From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Trade 2.0 is a new paradigm in the delivery of trading services based on the principles of Web 2.0. Over the last decade, customer’s computers and bandwidth have dramatically improved. Financial players have been quick to exploit this newly found processing power on the client side to deliver increasingly complex and heavy duty trading applications. In some instances placing a simple trade becomes a very complicated experience. No doubt highly skilled traders have the tools for setting up their elaborate trading strategies. Unfortunately the regular punter and occasional investor becomes more confused in the process. Instead of making it easier for them the industry made it more difficult.

Trade 2.0 applies the principles of Web 2.0 (syndication, simplicity, UGC, community based, participation, folksonomy,...) to trading. The result is a simplified and collaborative trading experience. 5% of trading is about investment techniques the remaining 95% is about psychology and Herd behavior. Trade 2.0 focuses on the human dimension of trading instead of the complex methods of trading (technical analysis, fundamental analysis...).The logical subsequent stages of evolution will be the integration of social networks analysis within the trading experience. Automated sentiment analysis of multiple sources of financial content and the mood of the investors communities will play an increased role in the investment techniques available to the traders.
