Ing. Juraj Brabec, CSc., (Born May 26, 1938, Trenčín, Czechoslovakia) is an important Slovak chess composer, referee, editor, publicist, and an official.

He composed 373 chess pieces, of which 289 were awarded, including 151 prizes. He is the author of compositional themes: Brabc's theme = three-phase cyclic exchange of three defensive motifs in two variants and Brabc's type of game exchange = three-phase combined game changes. He decided on 140 composition competitions, including 2 FIDE Albums and the Individual World Championships. In 1968 he was awarded the title of Master of Sports, since 1971 he has been the FIDE International Referee for Composition Chess since 1996 the FIDE International Champion, and since 2018 a member of the Hall of Fame of Slovak Composition Chess.
