Artsy Fartsy Show provides a diverse, youthful voice, filling art void by providing off-beat, sophisticated and interactive news and cultural arts events through radio, online media and performance curation. It believes in the curiosity and intelligence of its audience by committing to the prospect of promoting art as a universal, egalitarian, and inclusive necessity. Artsy Fartsy Show gathers arts-related topic discussions and collaborative performances with artists (obscure, emerging to the world-renowned) through radio, mobile media and performance curation. Artsy Fartsy Show is a project of ARTSPIRE, a program of the New York Foundation for the Arts a 501(c)(3).
Mission
[edit]Artsy Fartsy Show addresses the significant barriers and encourage cultural participation by demographic audiences who have low attendance patterns. The mission is to make the appreciation of art in all its forms and persuasions, accessible and consumable for everyone regardless of ethnicity, socio-economic status, employment, age, gender or cultural barriers. This issue is addressed by presenting stories and connecting artists to audiences, thus eliminating the significant barriers that prevent cultural inclusively.
Artsy Fartsy Show Radio
[edit]The Artsy Fartsy Show radio airs Tuesdays at 2pm EST from Pacifica Foundation radio station WBAI 99.5FM. The radio program covers all that is new and relevant in the performing, visual and culinary arts worlds features segments regarding art politics, artists’ rights and highlights the cultures that makes up the worldwide artistic community. The first episode aired on November 28, 2010.
The program is fast pace with no segment more than twenty minuets long. Each week's show loosely centers on a particular theme that is explored through interviews with featured artists, discussions, essays, and songs written by Artsy Fartsy Songwriter, Jon Braman.

Hollis Witherspoon brings her wit, insightful perspective, and the voice of the people to a Spot of Culture with Hollis Witherspoon. Witherspoon is an actress and writer and uses her editorial position to muse on the weekly fascinating lives of Americans. She graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Anthropology, and brings her ethnographic eye to the Spot of Culture, delving into the many subsets of culture within rural to urban life and how its various communities, citizens, ethos, and day-to-day interactions work together to make the United States a piece of living art, itself.
Artsy Fartsy Show Resident Songwriter
In the spirit of the Mighty Sparrow the program concludes its broadcast with original songs that detail the current events, developments in art and cultural commentary written by Jon Braman.
Jon Braman is known as the Father of Ukele Hip-hop.

AF Sessions
[edit]AF Sessions is a cross between a live intimate in-studio concert and a demo recording session exclusive to the AF Sessions. Bands are hand selected by AF Sessions Curator, Jack Dourakos and Executive Producer, Barika Taheer Edwards to perform for an intimate audience. A portion of the AF Sessions is broadcasted for terrestrial and online listeners can be a part of the AF Sessions experience. AF Sessions is one of the few curated live music sessions currently taking place on US terrestrial radios.
