Jeffrey “Jeff” Wittek (born December 15, 1989)[1] is an American actor, YouTuber, hair stylist, and comedian. He initially gained popularity on the short-form video platform Vine before creating his own YouTube channel in 2012. He eventually joined David Dobrik’s Vlog Squad in 2018. His personal channel includes the series Jeff’s Barbershop and Don’t Try This at Home.

Though Wittek had nearly 3M subscribers at the beginning of 2021, he gained over 200K subscribers in April 2021 after the release of the docuseries Don’t Try This at Home, which chronicles the circumstances of an accident he had in June 2020 while filming a vlog.

Early life[edit]

Wittek is from Staten Island, New York. He grew up poor and learned to make money as a teenager by working at a local barbershop and selling drugs. He continued selling drugs after relocating to Miami, Florida and was eventually arrested in 2011 for possession of marijuana, cocaine, and a controlled substance, as well as illegal drug trafficking.
