Hey, Kate...I guess I'm a bit confused about my fix being reverted back. The phrase "...and 12 other soldiers were received the Medal of Honor..." doesn't sound at all correct to me. For reference, I'm American and have been working with type professionally for almost 40 years. Maybe "were received" is an overseas expression? Anyway, I'm happy to be corrected if I misunderstand, but "...and 12 other soldiers received the Medal of Honor..." sounds a lot more grammatically correct to my ears. Ensure quoted statements are presented correctly

[edit]

Hi. I am watching the article for Charles Starkweather and noticed you changed the content of a quote for a "punctuation fix". I know you did not confirm the content of the quote from the provided source, since the source just failed verification and doesn't contain the quoted statement. In the future, be very careful to follow policies and guidelines regarding quotations (essay) (in short: accurate reproduction and accreditation attribution required), which in that case would have been to leave it alone. I'm not reverting your change because the failure to verify from the source renders the whole thing impossible to currently determine. Cheers.
