For a full outline and explanation of the benefits that come with creating an account, please see this page. If you edit without a username, your IP address (110.165.186.42) is used to identify you instead.
In any case, I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your IP address (or username if you're logged in) and the date. Afd
[edit]You cannot just tag an article and then not open the Afd discussion, which is very simple to do, just follow the link. Your failure to do so as an anon leads me to suspect you don't want an Afd, you just want to case disruption. It is NOT ok to half-do an Afd and then wait for somebody to help you, find somebody to help you and then tag the article. This is being disruptive as it doesn't give anyone a chance to discuss the Afd, hence my removal of the tag. It isn't acceptable to wait once you have placed the tag. If you are incompetent in terms of doing an Afd properly then don't do it, it is that simple. ♫ RichardWeiss talk contribs 09:19, 25 September 2019 (UTC)
- Richard, this is what it says in WP:AFDHOWTO, which I've linked to two or three times already:
- "Only a registered, logged-in user can complete steps II and III. (Autoconfirmed registered users can also use the Twinkle tool to make nominations.) If you are unregistered, you should complete step I, note the justification for deletion on the article's talk page, then post a message at Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion requesting that someone else complete the process."
- I believe this must be a misunderstanding of some sort. I'm not being "incompetent" or "disruptive." Since nobody else has volunteered to finish the remaining two steps of the AfD for me, I would really appreciate it if you could do it for me, seeing as you've already spent all this time on this issue anyway. I will however reinstate the deletion nomination on the page as it should be obvious to you now that I'm following Wikipedia guidelines. Best, 110.165.186.42 (talk) 09:53, 25 September 2019 (UTC)
- What that means is that you cannot do an afd unless you create an account and sign into it. Not sure why you don't do so. And I see it got speedily closed, which was fairly predictable, and in good part because you didn't open it. You are just wasting everybody's time. ♫ RichardWeiss talk contribs 17:08, 25 September 2019 (UTC)
- RichardWeiss, we have previously opened AFD on behalf of IP users. See these:

- Richard, please actually read the quote: "If you are unregistered, you should complete step I, note the justification for deletion on the article's talk page, then post a message at Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion requesting that someone else complete the process." It's OK to not know every intricate detail of the policy by heart, I'm not accusing you of anything, and I wasn't overly offended by you calling me incompetent, so let's just move on.110.165.186.42 (talk) 03:38, 26 September 2019 (UTC)

- You should ask for help before triggering the afd, otherwise a live article has an afd tag with no link to it, which is unfair on everybody. It would have cost the ip precisely nothing to do it that way, the priority has to be the live articles. I have no objection to IPs doing afds, I have issues with live articles tagged for deletion with no way of participating in an afd discussion or knowing what reason is being given for the deletion. ♫ RichardWeiss talk contribs 15:22, 26 September 2019 (UTC)
- RichardWeiss, well the WP:AFDHOWTO says IP users have to complete step 1 and then note the deletion reason on the talk page:
- "If you are unregistered, you should complete step I, note the justification for deletion on the article's talk page, then post a message at Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion requesting that someone else complete the process."
- Step 1 includes:
- Put the deletion tag on the article. Insert {{subst:afd1}} at the top of the article. If this article has been nominated before, use {{subst:afdx|2nd}} or {{subst:afdx|3rd}} etc. Do not mark the edit as minor. Include in the edit summary AfD: Nominated for deletion; see [[Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/NominationName]]. replacing NominationName with the name of the page being nominated. The NominationName is normally the article name (PageName), but if it has been nominated before, use "PageName (2nd nomination)" or "PageName (3rd nomination)" etc.) You can check the "Watch this page" box to follow the page in your watchlist. This allows you to notice if the AfD tag is removed. Save the page.
- If you disagree, post it to the talk page and try to get consensus to change the procedure! --Tyw7 (🗣️ Talk) — If (reply) then (ping me) 15:27, 26 September 2019 (UTC)

AFD
[edit]I have completed the AFD for you. See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Svante Thunberg (2nd nomination) --Tyw7 (🗣️ Talk) — If (reply) then (ping me) 18:34, 25 September 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you Tyw7!
