Welcome to Wikipedia!

Hello IP user. Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions!

I'm Dibbydib, one of the other editors here, and I hope you decide to stay and help contribute to this amazing repository of knowledge. Although you're free to perform most tasks on Wikipedia without registering, it's highly recommended you create an account as there are many added benefits. It's private and secure and it's also free, simple, and quick to do.

Some pages of helpful information to get you started:
  Introduction to Wikipedia
  The five pillars of Wikipedia
  Editing tutorial
  How to edit a page
  Simplified Manual of Style
  The basics of Wikicode
  How to develop an article
  How to create an article
  Help pages
  What Wikipedia is not
Some common sense Dos and Don'ts:
  Do be bold
  Do assume good faith
  Do be civil
  Do keep cool!
Do maintain a neutral point of view
  Don't spam
  Don't infringe copyright
Don't edit where you have a conflict of interest
  Don't commit vandalism
  Don't get blocked
If you need further help, you can:
  Ask a question
or you can:
  Get help at the Teahouse
or even:
Ask an experienced editor to "adopt" you

Alternatively, leave me a message at my talk page or type {{helpme}} here on your talk page and someone will try to help.

There are many ways you can contribute to Wikipedia. Here are a few ideas:
  Fight vandalism
Be a WikiFairy or a WikiGnome
  Help contribute to articles
  Perform maintenance tasks

Become a member of a project that interests you
  Help design new templates
Subscribe and contribute to The Signpost

To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. If you register an account, you can create your own personal sandbox for use any time. It's perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you could put a link to it on your user page.

Please remember to:

  • Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes ~~~~ at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your IP address linked to your contributions page (however, if you create an account, your IP address will be hidden and you will be able to build a custom signature that can link to your own user page), a link to this IP's talk page, and a timestamp.
  • Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.
The best way to learn about something is to experience it. Explore, learn, contribute, and don't forget to have some fun!

Sincerely, User:Dibbydib (talk) 01:42, 31 March 2020 (UTC)   (Leave me a message)[reply]

Request reason:

Caught by a colocation web host block but this host or IP is not a web host. My IP address is 125.129.16.99 I'm not sure why I'm showing as blocked as I've edited repeatedly here without issue. 125.129.16.99 (talk) 00:40, 1 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

This IP address is not blocked. As you indicate below you've been using a VPN, that'll be the cause of the problem. You need to wait 24 hours after disabling your VPN. Yamla (talk) 01:42, 1 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Currently seeing this block when I try to edit: Editing from 104.254.92.0/22 has been blocked (disabled) by ‪ST47‬ for the following reason(s)--125.129.16.99 (talk) 00:41, 1 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
This may be a browser/caching issue. I use a VPN for a site that rate limits foreign connections, and I notice the block range that is shown is from the country my VPN connects to. Not for my actual IP address (that you can clearly see I'm editing from now). For some reason this talk page sees me as my correct IP address, but other pages on wikipedia see me as that VPN address..and the VPN isn't turned on.--125.129.16.99 (talk) 00:45, 1 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I can edit from another browser, but not firefox. I tried clear cookies and data related to wikipedia, but no change.--125.129.16.99 (talk) 00:50, 1 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
