Neo-racism?

[edit]

Hi, I've noticed that you've been correcting "white" to "European-American". First, please be careful not to edit direct quotes (I reverted one such change here). Second, it might be helpful if you seek some consensus first before changing the terminology en masse. One place to do so could be Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Ethnic groups.

Without getting into the debate about whether you are "right" or not, there are millions of articles on Wikipedia and a sizable percentage of them use "white" or "black" to identify race as commonly understood. You are not going to change that by yourself by editing a handful of articles. Instead, you would need to establish a consensus for changing this usage project-wide. The best place to start such a discussion would be the Village Pump.
Failing that, I am reverting all of those changes. Consider this a warning for disruptive editing. Should you decide to continue making the change anyway without seeking a consensus, you will eventually be blocked from editing. - SummerPhDv2.0 12:51, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, taking note of your edit to Adolph E. Borie, it seems you have a different ax to grind. If you continue, I will ask to have you blocked from editing. - SummerPhDv2.0 12:55, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

"Neo-racist terminology"

[edit]

You have been told a number of times not to change "White" to "European-American", when "White" is the term used by the sourced which is cited, yet you continue to do this. If you continue in this fashion, I will ask an admin to block you from editing for being disruptive. Please stop. Beyond My Ken (talk) 02:17, 17 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • On 24 January this editor changed "white" to "European-American" on the Battle of Plum Creek article. One might attribute these changes to politically-correct zealousness, but in at least one article he has changed the term "African American" to "black" which suggests to me that he has a political agenda. In any case, I think it is time to ban or block him. Smallchief (talk) 12:49, 24 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
A prior block and multiple requests to discuss the issue have not gotten a response. I have asked for a new block.[1] - SummerPhDv2.0 13:59, 24 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Emmett Jay Scott, you may be blocked from editing. I see many other users have commented about changing "white" to European-American. Please get consensus on the page's talk page before making these changes. POLITANVM talk 02:32, 23 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
