[edit]Hello, I'm Sumanuil. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Mademoiselle Gobete have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. - Sumanuil. - I do not understand. What do you mean by "constructive"? The title was incorrect, and I corrected it, giving one unassailable source and one extremely good one. Put it this way: How did the word Gobete in the title come to be spelled with one t? Does Wikipedia have any verification for THAT? The misspelling also exists on imdb (which I have also told of their error). But do you have any examples of the spelling with one t connected with the movie--any production still (like the one I submitted), a poster, etc.? I also direct you to the cast list in the entry, where Gobette is spelled correctly. If you believe that Gobete is the correct spelling, why do you not make it so in the cast list? Or do you really believe that a character's name will be spelled one way in the cast list and another in the title?
- I would really appreciate answers to these questions because I am very puzzled by your response. I cannot see that all the reasoning and verification above can be undone by the two words "not constructive"--a term that I do not understand. In real life, the term is used for criticism that does not contribute any facts, and is merely derogatory. Obviously that is not true of my contribution. Then what DOES it mean?
- Thank you. 146.199.237.83 (talk) 08:10, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
https://www.nytimes.com/1955/02/05/archives/mlle-gobette-entre.html Here is a link to the review of the movie on the day it opened. as you can see from the link itself, the spelling has two t's.
While imdb does use your spelling, they must have got it from another incorrect source. As did the listing in Radio Times. They certainly did not get it, as I did, from an authentic one. Indeed, if a hundred other sites spelled the name with one t, that would not make them right. Or do you disagree with that?
I repeat--where is YOUR verification for your spelling?
