If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make the edit, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Rothschild

[edit]

Can you please explain why you removed Charles Gregoire de Rothschild from important family members under the Rothschild banking family of France? Thank you.

Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Swat (princely state). Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. SudoGhost 19:57, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions, such as the one you made to Oligocene. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages you might like to see:

You are welcome to continue editing without logging in, but many editors recommend that you create an account. Doing so is free, requires no personal information, and provides several benefits such as the ability to create articles. For a full outline and explanation of the benefits that come with creating an account, please see this page. If you edit without a username, your IP address (206.205.117.10) is used to identify you instead.

In any case, I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your IP address (or username if you're logged in) and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}} before the question on this page. Again, welcome! Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, 206.205.117.10. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you have an external relationship with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article George J. Mitchell, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies. Note that Wikipedia's terms of use require disclosure of your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 17:39, 6 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please also note that anyone with an IP address can claim to be any person or hold any position; simply saying you are Sen. Mitchell's executive assistance is not sufficient. We need a reliable source that is published somewhere to support any claim. Please also consider the above information. 331dot (talk) 17:41, 6 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
