An article you recently created, Mat-Su Career and Technical High School does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. Please see the school article guidelines which describes how the content of school articles should be organized, with the aim of providing general guidance to editors. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hey Steven,
Thanks for the heads up. What are some examples in my article where relying on only primary sources would be problematic, and what secondary sources could I use to back them up? 20 below zero (talk) 04:01, 3 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, your article hasn't been deleted so with it being moved to draftspace doesn't affect your article in anyway — it just allows you to work on it more and then submit it so that it can be reviewed by another editor in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, who will then publish it to the mainspace if eligible, or decline it with the reasons why and what you would need to do next before resubmitting.
I did some cleanup in the article already which you can see what I did in this edit. There's a comment in the article about what to do, and some of the independent sources were in the COVID section that I've removed, as many schools around the world are affected by the virus and already covered in the Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on education article. News sources and books are examples of independent sources (the links above will tell you more about sourcing). An example of a recently created school article I recommend you to have a look at is MOT Charter School — in this version it was declined which you can see the reason why at the top. So the creator worked on it more and it was accepted; looks like this (includes my cleanup, which I will do the same with yours). The creator followed the school article guidelines for structuring the article and what to include. Hope this helps, Steven (Editor) (talk) 21:45, 4 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
And when you're adding sources, it's better to add any authors of the source, date of the source, name of the source and access date — it's tedious adding it manually, but there is a tool called "RefToolbar" which is built into the edit window and makes adding references so much easier. Please see this help page for information on how to do this (it does say to "give a unique name for it in the 'Ref name' field", you only need to add this if you're going to use that same source again).
