Welcome![edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

Someone using this IP address, at 49.228.240.215, has made edits to Vijay (actor) that do not conform to our policies and guidelines and therefore have been reverted. For more information on this, see Wikipedia's policies on vandalism and limits on acceptable additions. If you did not do this, you may wish to consider getting a username to avoid confusion with other editors. If you'd like to experiment with the syntax, please do so in the sandbox rather than in articles.

You don't have to log in to read or edit pages on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free, requires no personal information, and has many benefits. Without a username, your IP address is used to identify you.

Again, welcome! Drmies (talk) 15:55, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No, the tags are valid, as Sirdog said--and your edit really doesn't begin to address them. If you are going to judiciously cut some of the fat from this article, you will need to explain it better than just saying "unwanted". Sorry. Drmies (talk) 16:06, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

please kindly point out the fan stuff in the article there is no fan stuff, there is both positive and negative about him in the article. I find the tags placed unnecessarily by some puffery in the lead and it was all removed now. 49.228.240.215 (talk) 16:09, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Now, I have not read the entire article. I also do not possess an interest in reading the entire article so as to assist you in this endeavor, though if you partake in it with good faith and follow the advice in your welcome message, I support you morally. I only caught the interaction while patrolling recent changes. Just glancing at the lede (which is the opening paragraphs of an article before sections are introduced) it is way to over-detailed and spends more time going over Vijay's accomplishments rather than including information that is relevant for a reader to know immediately. If you want to do this I highly advise creating an account. While Wikipedia tries to have a culture where IP's are just as valid as regular editors, in practice, any edits you make to substantially adjust content are going to be removed due to prejudice against IP's. —Sirdog (talk) 16:19, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
yes I am trying to shorten the article so that the article gets improved and tags being removed later point of time can I do it?49.228.240.215 (talk) 16:11, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Specific edits/improvements really should be done via the article talk page. It's not a matter of Sirdog or me agreeing with this or that point. For the record, I am fully OK with this edit. But the matter of tags and content, that's for the article talk page. I started here because it was specifically your edit summary in connection to your edit that drew my attention. Drmies (talk) 16:27, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Agree with Drmies. Should have probably just moved all of this there myself rather than giving my opinion here, in retrospect. —Sirdog (talk) 16:28, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No, Sirdog, your comment was specifically addressed to the IP editor, so it's absolutely fine to do that here. Content and tags, that's for the article talk page and for a wider audience. Drmies (talk) 16:30, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
