Information icon Hello, I'm Armegon. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Ultraman: Rising have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Stop edit warring. Take it to the talk page. Or you will be blocked Armegon (talk) 16:00, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Armegon, Edit warring wasn't my intention. I appreciate the patience on providing the guidelines here. To understand better, what constitutes "Constructive"? I was only looking to provide a missing info. 68.4.234.26 (talk) 16:20, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
It's constructive to take any issues to the talk page rather than restore them. Otherwise, you might be blocked per WP:3RR. It's also disruptive to restore challenged edits per WP:DE. In the case of Ultraman: Rising, co-directors are not listed in the directors column of the infobox since they are separate roles ruled by the Directors Guild of America (DGA). If it's a situation like The Matrix or The Nutcracker and the Four Realms where two individuals share the same job, per DGA ruling, then it would be fine adding to the infobox. But Aoshima is only credited as co-director. Tindle is solely credited as director, per DGA ruling and the billing credits. Keep in mind that director and co-director are separate roles with different responsibilities. Armegon (talk) 16:46, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the detailed response. Again, my apologies as I am not familiar with all the rules of Wikipedia. From what I know, Animation Directors are not part of the DGA. Instead, they are part of TAG (The Animation Guild). Titles of "Director" is used but not technically official. Directors like, Guillermo Del Toro and Brad Bird have been advocating to include Animation Directors to the DGA for years. Make me think the info box should be reconsidered to include other guilds or affiliations guidelines. I am also surprised to know IMDB is less accurate. Good to know Wiki stays on top of it! 68.4.234.26 (talk) 17:07, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, per WP:UGC IMDB is user generated content -- unregulated unlike Wikipedia, so it's unacceptable to use as a source. Per Template:Infobox film we have to go by the official billing credits that are found on the posters, if possible. If not possible, go with the billing credits in the end credits. And like I said, the billing credits on Ultraman: Rising's posters, and Tsuburaya's official English page, list Tindle as the sole director. Armegon (talk) 02:44, 25 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
