Aram Khachaturian was born to Armenian parents and is an Armenian. His birthname is Aram Khachaturian. His father is Egia Khachaturian. See his family tree here - http://www.khachaturian.am/eng/tree.htm. So his full name would be Aram Egia Khachaturian. You wouldn't use the father name in English, but if you want to add it then it should be his father's real name.
Ilya is a Rusified version of Egia. It is part of the imperialist nature of the Russian occupation of Armenia and other peoples of the Russian Empire and then Soiet Union. 86.14.147.58 (talk) 16:54, 20 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Armenia was part of the Soviet Union at the time of his birth, therefore he is Soviet Armenian. Secondly, his name has been recorded in many places as Ilyich (even the family tree gives his father's name also as Ilia), so that should not be removed. If you want to add other versions (with a source) then that is acceptable, but you mustn't remove reliably-sourced information just because you don't agree with the circumstances. ... discospinster talk 18:27, 20 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Firstly, there was no Soviet Union at the time of Aram Khachaturian's birth in 1903. He was born as an Armenian to Armenian parents. His father was called Egia or Yeghia not Ilya.
Secondly, Aram Khachaturian's gravestone in Yerevan, Armenia, has inscriptions both in Armenian and Russian and both read just Aram Khachaturian. He had no second name as such. His father's name or the Russian nickname does not need to appear on wikipedia as if it's his middle name. It is misleading for the non-Russian readers who may think that Aram Khachaturian had a middle name Ilya or even worse Ilyich. 86.14.147.58 (talk) 21:27, 20 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
