Welcome
[edit]Welcome!
Hello, Aaniya B, and welcome to Wikipedia! I have noticed that you are fairly new! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. I also see that you have an interest in the use of images and/or photos on Wikipedia.
Did you know that:
- Wikipedia has a very stringent image use policy?
- Most images from Flickr, online news websites, and other web sources are copyrighted?
- Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously?
- Freely-licensed images may be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, a central location for images, from where they can be used on Wikipedia and many other wikis?
- We recommend that new users use our "files for upload" process - at least until you get the hang of things?
If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}}
on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:
Thank You
[edit]- ) Thank You.
I hope I will be able to assist in building the free knowledge base for all. I am preparing for M.Tech admission in Computer Science and Applications. Please let me know if I can have a reagular task of reading and adding. I would love to do that.
The requirement of image upload is no more. I came to know about the "math" tag here in wiki markup laguage.

Disambiguation hatnote on Automaton
[edit]Hi there,
Thanks for trying to improve the Automaton article here. However, I've restored the original disambiguation "hatnote" for two reasons.
Basically, it's because the hatnote is a mini version of a disambiguation page- it's not part of the article itself, and it follows a different style. Disambiguations only exist to clarify different uses of words and redirect users to what they're looking for. Therefore they use a different style to the "proper" article- see WP:MOSDAB for details.
Disambiguations should be as short as possible, and should only link the relevant terms (e.g. in this case "automaton" and the redirected term "automata" were being clarified, so those two should be linked, but "theoretical computer science" should not.)
Apologies if that was unclear. (Also, "disambiguation" was an obscure choice of words by the Wikipedia creators, they should have called it "clarification" instead!)
All the best, Ubcule (talk) 00:04, 7 February 2014 (UTC)
