May 2011[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Action Ambulance. When removing content, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the content has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. —Tim Pierce (talk) 16:32, 10 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates or other materials from Wikipedia, as you did at Action Ambulance, you may be blocked from editing. —Tim Pierce (talk) 16:33, 10 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm just checking in about your Articles for Deletion nomination for Action Ambulance. It looks like you got part way through the nomination process and got stopped. To finish nominating the article for deletion, you should go to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Action Ambulance and put this in the page:

   {{subst:afd2 | pg=Action Ambulance | cat=O | text=Why the page should be deleted}} ~~~~

only substituting your own explanation for "why the page should be deleted" of course.

Then edit the list of articles for deletion and, right underneath the comment that says "Add new entries to the TOP of the following list", add this:

  {{subst:afd3 | pg=Action Ambulance}}

That should complete the process, so other Wikipedia editors can discuss whether the article should be deleted. I hope this helps! —Tim Pierce (talk) 16:53, 10 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Administrator's Noticeboard[edit]

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you.--v/r - TP 17:01, 10 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for making legal threats or taking legal action. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 17:07, 10 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You are not allowed to edit Wikipedia while the threats stand or the legal action is unresolved.

it's my company and I can write whatever the hell I want on the page since you won't let me delete it! I CAN SUE PEOPLE FOR SLANDERS COMMENTS ABOUT MY COMPANY IF I WANT TO. Maybe if it didn't take an act of congress to delete a page, NONE OF THIS WOULD BE GOING ON!!! WHAT IS WRONG WITY YOU PEOPLE?? Every time I try to make a change to the page it DOESN'T TAKE MORONS!!! WHY DO YOU THINK I WANT TO PAGE DELETED?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Actionems (talkcontribs)

I think that there has been a misunderstanding here. When you wrote "ACTION WILL BE TAKEN" on the Action Ambulance article, other editors watching the discussion interpreted that as a legal threat. Wikipedia has a strong policy preventing users who are engaged in a legal dispute from using Wikipedia to exacerbate the problem: see Wikipedia:No legal threats for more details.
I've asked to have the block on your account lifted or made temporary because I don't think you're doing anything in bad faith here, but it does seem like you don't fully understand how Wikipedia works. This is a shared resource, not a Yellow Pages directory -- even though you may be employed by or own Action Ambulance, you don't own the Wikipedia article about Action Ambulance, and don't have automatic say over the contents of the article. We'll be more than happy to work with you on making sure that the article is accurate and complete, but you will have to work with Wikipedia as well. —Tim Pierce (talk) 17:27, 10 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The block cannot be lifted while a legal threat exists, as per WP:LEGAL - good faith or not. But if you are prepared to withdraw your legal threat and discuss this with us in a collegial manner, and recognize that you do not own the article and cannot prohibit people writing about your company, we can help you to remove any unsupported defamatory comments -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 17:32, 10 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

COI, CORPNAME, and OWN[edit]

If you are connected with the company, you need also to read WP:COI and WP:CORPNAME, as well as WP:OWN. - David Biddulph (talk) 17:45, 10 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That's also true, but for now I think it would be best if we can just get User:Actionems to talk to us and see if we can sort out the actual problem - if there's anything defamatory in the article, we want to correct or remove it too -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 17:50, 10 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed - let's take this one step at a time and first make sure there's nothing defamatory or inaccurate in the article. —Tim Pierce (talk) 17:53, 10 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A few words of clarification, in case all this is not already clear to you. You wrote "it's my company and I can write whatever the hell I want on the page", but unfortunately that is a misunderstanding. You may own the company, but you don't own the Wikipedia article about it. Owning the company no more gives you the right to dictate what Wikipedia says about it than it gives you the right to dictate what a newspaper or television station says about it. However, if there really is libel in the article then you need to explain that, and we can delete it. However, we do need explanation and evidence: simply saying words to the effect of "it's my company so I can stop you saying things about it that I don't like" is not enough. JamesBWatson (talk) 20:51, 10 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I saw this at the noticeboard, and it seems to stem from a misunderstanding of how Wikipedia works. Wikipedia is a complicated place, it'd be unreasonable for us to expect anyone to figure out how this whole mess works without months (or even years) of experience. If any employees or owners (or others) would like me to try my hand at explaining some of these things, feel free to email me at lifebaka@gmail.com. I'd also be happy to do what I can to help remove inaccuracies or misinformation in the article. Cheers, everyone. lifebaka++ 00:20, 11 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
