Building a Better Asylum
[edit]Sorry to see that AFD went the way it did. I wish I'd been aware of it earlier, as I might have chimed in...not sure it would have made a difference, but I do think the arguments for keeping the article were rather weak. It's a shame you're apparently bummed out enough to overwrite your Talk page in such a manner; I hope you'll be back at some point. Doniago (talk) 13:32, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
- Actually, looking that discussion over, a reasonable argument might have been made for spin off articles in order to keep the primary article Magical beast (Dungeons & Dragons) from becoming overly long. This would avoid the entire Notability argument because it would essentially be treated like a paragraph within a larger article. As it was, the arguments were pretty weak. -- Avanu (talk) 15:33, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
Mary Cunningham Agee
[edit]As Mrs. Agee's Director of Communication for 20 years, I am appalled that her article fell so short of what appears to be the standard for an excellent article in Wikipedi - and consider this shorcoming to be my fault. I don't know who chopped this article to pieces, but it isn't acceptable. Mrs. Agee is an historical figure in both the advancement of women in workplace and the empowerment of women who choose motherhood as their primary vocation at a point in their lives. One glimpse at her experience at Bendix in 80's when women excelling in business totally threatened the "good old boys" establishment explains why she would be a champion for women and be honored on many fronts for her 25+year efforts on behalf of women. This is an important story in our history. It is not a resume. It is the story of brilliant, dedicated woman who has made a mark in the world. With the goal of meeting your standards, I have increased factual reference from 10 to about 80. These accomplishments and awards are real; they have been vetted and documented over and over and they exist for a very good reason. (Note: the honors and accomplishments in this article are a drop of the bucket of the recognition Mrs. Agee has actually received. If you doubt this, just take a look at her resume. This article is by no means all that she has done. It is simply a snapshot.) I have done my part to the very best of my ability to write a NPOV article and document it well. I would ask you to please review it immediately, run it up the ladder to someone senior or whatever it takes get the warning banner removed that the article is less than it should be. If I need to do ANYTHING else to get this warning banner to go away, I would appreciate your being very specific about what is needed. I am counting on your help and thank you in advance. [edit]I just sent you a plea to get Mrs. Agee's article reviewed ASAP. You mentioned in an earlier note to please send you a {:help me} tag if the article still needed a review. I am not sure exactly how to do that. This second message is my call for help. Thanks so much. Omnibus170 (talk) 01:19, 14 June 2011 (UTC)

Request for assistance in cleaning up Filmographies / TV show lists of Filipino artists
[edit]Hi. I would like seek assistance regarding the cleanup of the Filmography list of Filipino artists. There is a certain anon lurking on the 112.210.xxx.xxx and 112.206.xxx.xxx subnets adding questionable shows and films on almost all of the artists who became popular during the late 80's and early 90's (examples are Randy Santiago, Joey Marquez, Vic Sotto, and Roderick Paulate among others). The anon keeps on adding the following shows constantly on those artists, namely Barangay U.S.: Unang Sigaw, Purungtong, Estudyante Blues, Plaza 1899, Sergeant Palpak, Mikee, The Maricel Drama Special among others. Personally, I have no idea if the first five shows I have mentioned even aired or existed, even more suspicious, the anon adds the same list of shows on all of the artists he edits. Kindly assist. Thanks. PS: I have encountered the latest IP address of this hoaxer (112.210.196.234) and had resorted on personal attacks after I have warned him several times (1, 2). -WayKurat (talk) 08:14, 20 June 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Active Banana,
Could I ask you to please look at this article again and consider removing the two warning banners? I have added references by a factor of 6 or 7, added page numbers where I have them, removed every adjective that could remotely present a "glowing" report - trying in every way possible to meet Wikipedia standards for NPOV. I have invested 60 hours in improving this article and no one else really has an interest. One editor removed large chunks of data about 10 days ago (which you restored - thank you) and has not responded to any my subsequent notes on his or her talk page. I have read dozens of other articles and they all include distinctions without being labeled "resume like." This article reflects only a small percentage of the material in Ms. Agee's Curriculum Vitae and, I believe, now reads like a NPOV story of an historic person in the woman's movement. I cannot believe that adding more articles (which I could do) would add credibility. It is already factual, credible and well documented. I am hoping that you agree and can remove the warnings promptly. Thanks so much. Omnibus170 (talk) 16:32, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
how to provide evidence for 'unsourced'
[edit]Hello Active Banana, I gather you are the editor who removed from the Stephanie Bennett (harpist) page, the assertion in 'personal life' section that 'she was formerly married to guitarist Frank Gambale', as 'unsourced assertion' (or something similar). I have a newspaper article from 1986 in which they are described as husband and wife (but don't believe I can upload it to Wikipedia due to it being copyrighted by the newspaper, I assume). What would you suggest, as Wikipedia-style proof? Thanks Harpfans (talk) 15:47, 13 September 2011 (UTC)

SkyCable
[edit]Hi, I would like to seek your help regarding the article SkyCable. User Webwires who I think the long-term editor and maintainer of the article is insisting that the page is for the cable TV brand. But don't you think it is better [for Wikipedia] if we relegate the article into the company ones and for all? Instead of the cable TV brand, we could assign it to the company and moved skycable, skybroadband, etc... into sub articles. Also a concern of mine is the tone of the page. Obviously Wikipedia is not a directory nor a place to advertise a cable service, don't you think we should make the article more encyclopedic? Thank you. I hope we could make Wikipedia a better place. -My Page (Contact Me) 12:31, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. The article Valery Androsov has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Locally known artist, fails WP:NARTIST.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Bearian (talk) 22:57, 21 December 2020 (UTC)
