The process of technical training in the kingdom has passed through several stages of evolution. The Kingdom has paid attention to technical and vocational training believing that it is the basis for the development of the Saudi citizen. A citizen who is able to meet the requirements of the ambitious development plans of the country which requires technically qualified national cadres. After an extensive study, it was found that technical training is the basic and most important tributary that could supply the country with qualified manpower and at the same time satisfies the ambition of trainees wishing to pursue higher education in applied technology. Its first objectives and priorities to graduate the qualified technical cadres scientifically and practically to work in technical areas those contribute directly in building the national economy. Therefore, the corporation adopted the idea of applying bachelor program to rehabilitate the distinguished graduates of the diploma program in technical colleges to work in the field of training in industrial secondary institutes and technical colleges.[1]
Training Sections
[edit]The TVTC is quite keen in meeting the present and future needs of the Kingdom. It has implemented a number of expansions by establishing new colleges of technology that were spread all over the country. These colleges aim at admitting secondary school leavers and trade schools and qualify them in the various professional, technical and administrative specialties. They award their graduates Diploma certificates (assistant engineer in technology, assistant administrative officer in Finance, Administration or Business Administration) the certificates are approved and categorized and classified by the Ministry of Civil Service.
The Diploma program in the Colleges of technology include electrical technology, mechanics, computer, travel and tourism, hospitality, administration, electronics, civil and Architecture, Chemical, communications, Food processing, food production, environment and Special techniques. [2]
Admission Requirements
[edit]- He should be a Saudi. A non Saudi could be admitted in accordance with the regulations organizing admissions.
- Should have a High School Certificate, Technical, Vocational, or Developed High School Certificate or equivalent.
- The required certificate should not be obtained more 5 years old.
- Should be physically fit
- Should be full time student
- He should not be less than 17 years of age and not more than 30 years
- Should not be dismissed for any reason from any technical college and could return after three semesters.
- Should not be dismissed for disciplinary reasons from any training or educational institution.
- Should be of good conduct
- Should fulfill the admissions requirements specified by the management of the College’s General Administration for Trainee Affairs announced earlier.
- An employee could be admitted on condition that he got an approval by his employers to be a fulltime trainee.
The TVTC does not guarantee employment for graduates it only provides the necessary training for employment.
The required documents for Admissions:
[edit]- The original High School Certificate or equivalent + (2) copies.
- A copy of the national identity card or iqama + the original for matching.
- Three Personal photograph (3x3cm) – head uncovered.
- Certificate of good conduct.
- Fill in the contract form online and then sign it (trainee acceptance agreement).
- Students should retain the admissions note and keep a copy of it in his file.
- All the above mentioned documents shall be kept in the file of the prospective trainee[3]
