Thameside Radio

[edit]

[1]

I'm concerned that this article was deleted the day after I wrote that I had started to add changes to address the issues of original research and non notability.

I have a set of published sources to back up much of the original author's assertions, some of which I had just added, and was about to remove those elements that did not fit with Wikipedia policy on OR.

I do feel the item is notable: It was part of the 1980's London Zeitgeist as the station was the breeding ground for a number of national figures in radio, it had more listeners than the BBC station for London, it appeared in the listings magazines of the time, received substantial press coverage and it piloted programme formats that were subsequetly taken up by the BBC.

Definitely worth a small article?

What do I do next?

Hi there. I saw this on New Page Patrol; obviously it's not an encyclopaedia article so I've moved it into Userspace. If you think it was incorrectly deleted, the first thing you should do is leave a note on the deleting admin's talk page here, explaining why you think it should not have been deleted, and if possible, list the sources you mention which cover the subject. He may undelete it, or advise further, but if you're still not happy with the response you can start a deletion review; again the more information on possible sources you can provide when you start the review, the better the chances are of the article being restored. Unfortunately as I'm not an admin I can't see the deleted article, so can't really advise further on how it could be improved. However, if I can help further, leave a note on my talk page and I'll see what I can do. Best Iain99Balderdash and piffle 11:51, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
