Many thanks for the remarks to make this contributions better. Many references have been added to have the information verifiable. Concerning why the subject is notable and worthy of inclusion in an encyclopedia, there are many evidences of it, corresponding to the different points or criteria of guidelines for academics. Just to highlight a few of them, related to numbers 3, 6, Professor Diaz was elected as a Member (Académico) of the old and prestigious Real Academia de Ciencias Exactas, Físicas y Naturales (The Royal Academy of Sciences of Spain). as referenced, being part of a reduced and very selected group of only 55 scientists (from all sciences) from the whole country, and very selected foreign correspondent members, as Gauss, Faraday, etc., in the past. Related to points 2 and 4, in the mathematics genealogy project, he has 77 descendents, people whose PhD Dissertation has been advised directly by him (20) or by this PhD students of him, and he has been the coordinator of a big university(11)-industry(2) European project. In relation with some other points, he has been appointed Professeur de premier classe in several French (and Italian) Universities, Honorary member at the Wisconsin Research Center. He was awarded as Docteur Honoris Causa at the University of Pau (France). He has been organizer or member of the Scientific Committee, of many Congresses, national and international ones, which have their own web page, where obtain the evidences. He fostered very much (in Spain and elsewhere) the development of the Applied Mathematics. He has been editor, or editor-in-chief, of many JCR Journals, as cited.
