Alicia, thanks for the message. The sites that you linked to are not Wikipedia pages, they are sites that use the Wikimedia software, but are not connected to the Wikimedia Foundation. Do you mean links to those sites on English Wikipedia pages? – ukexpat (talk) 16:33, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Before you publish

[edit]

Hi; welcome.

To create a new page, just type in the title of the page (as if searching), and you can 'start the page'. That's all there is to it.

For further help, see WP:Starting_an_article#How_to_create_a_page

Before you publish that article, please read some of the wikipedia policies, especially WP:CORP, WP:N and WP:RS.

Good luck with it.

CSS

Alicia

Thanks for the message. I have taken the liberty of copying the draft article to a user subpage at User:Alicia Weeder/Cybernet-Slash Support so that it is easier to edit. I see a couple of problems at the moment. There is no indication in the article as to how the company is important or significant - without that it would be subject to speedy deletion under WP:CSD#A7. If it survived that, it does not have sufficient reliable sources to support the company's notability as re required by WP:CORP. Hope this helps.  – ukexpat (talk) 15:42, 8 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the follow up message. Yes, you are correct, references to the company's own website are not "reliable sources" for Wikipedia purposes. Check the link above for the sort of references to be looking for. If the article were moved to the mainspace and deleted there is no rule preventing it being re-created in a better form. Where some people go wrong is repeatedly creating an article in exactly the same form - that just ticks off the rest of the community and leads to article titles being protected against re-creation. So yes, keep working on the article in the subpage and ask for help as often as you need to. – ukexpat (talk) 19:22, 8 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A bit more help

[edit]

Hi,

Thanks for the note on my page, and for listening. Lots of people don't take advice before creating a page, and they get off on the wrong foot. I would strongly recommend;

1. Spend a bit of time editing and improving other articles; read the talk pages, chat with people, and get more familiar with wikipedia. (One thing that does not go down well is 'single purpose accounts' - people coming to the project with just one purpose, to promote their company; if you get to know a few people and help them out with other pages, they will, in return, help you)

2. If you do decide to put that company page on, make sure you have as many solid references as possible. Read up about how to create references - or look at other pages to see how they've done it.

And just one other thing - when you write a message anywhere, remember to always sign your name by typing ~~~~ at the end.

Please feel free to ask me anything you like,

Good luck; happy editing. --  Chzz  ►  19:02, 8 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
