Your account has been blocked indefinitely because the chosen username is a clear violation of our username policy – it is obviously profane; threatens, attacks or impersonates another person; or suggests that you do not intend to contribute positively to the encyclopedia (see our blocking and username policies for more information).

We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia, but users are not allowed to edit with inappropriate usernames and we do not tolerate 'bad faith' editing such as trolling or other disruptive behavior. If you think there are good reasons why these don't describe your account, or why you should be unblocked, you are welcome to appeal this block – read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page.

Request reason:

I had no idea I was blocked up until now, but this user name just happens to be my internet handle for everything. You can check my last edit 3 years ago was a contribution for a relatively obscure chemical engineering formula and while I admit the formatting was shoddy, it was a positive non "trolling" edit. If its possible, I'd like to keep this handle; I don't think its profane, racist, dehumanizing, etc. but was immediately banned based on a word filter for "Troll". Please let me keep it! Thanks Always trolled (talk) 16:23, 17 July 2019 (UTC)

Accept reason:

As discussed below. Welcome back. -kingboyk (talk) 00:48, 20 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • I assume that The Anome blocked this username because it "suggests that you do not intend to contribute positively to the encyclopedia". Maybe you did contribute in good faith, but your username suggests that you won't be. I'm not going to close your request so others can look at it, and if they want to lift the block it's okay with me, but I'm in the you-should-change-your-name camp. Unfortunately it isn't always possible to have the same internet handle on every website on this planet. 331dot (talk) 16:43, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Nor is it wise to. If someone breaks into one website's password list, and you used the same password everywhere, it's easier to hijack your accounts. (Make sure your password here is strong and unique.) However endorse unblock. Constructive editor editing constructively.  Dlohcierekim (talk) 17:02, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • I do agree with the concerns. The specific contribution was the "Van Winkle Correlation" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Van_Winkle%27s_Correlation) just to clear up the "maybe." All important accounts, healthcare, 401k, finances, email are locked under entirely different passwords and names. However, its easier for games, social media, website services for a more standardized approach with a handful of different passwords. Ultimately, the username is a nice-to-have and not a need-to-have, but thank you for your consideration from a long time wikipedia supporter. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Always trolled (talkcontribs)
  • "Usernames that otherwise show a clear intent to disrupt Wikipedia". This username could be construed as "I'm always caught out by trolls" rather than "I am a troll"; in the absence of conflicting evidence, and given the OP's statement, I think we should assume good faith and unblock. However, I am going to ask the blocking admin to making the final call. --kingboyk (talk) 06:39, 19 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
