Why this page[edit]

I just received another 6 welcomes from other language Wikipedias which I have no intention of ever editing as they are languages I cannot read.

These clutter the notification system pointlessly. Unsure what to do to escalate it. Andrewa (talk) 15:39, 10 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

And now a welcome from Italian Wikiquote, see the user page. Andrewa (talk) 09:06, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

And they're back, see https://mk.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=%D0%A0%D0%B0%D0%B7%D0%B3%D0%BE%D0%B2%D0%BE%D1%80_%D1%81%D0%BE_%D0%BA%D0%BE%D1%80%D0%B8%D1%81%D0%BD%D0%B8%D0%BA:Andrewa&oldid=4196375 for my latest. Andrewa (talk) 19:42, 2 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Interested parties[edit]

Rhialto[edit]

Rhialto, are you still getting them too? And/or did you find a way of stopping them? Andrewa (talk) 03:44, 11 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I received one within the last couple of weeks. It was a Baltic language (not sure which one), but I can't find the notification now when searching through my history. I'm not sure if that's because the notice was quietly deleted in the background or I am looking in the wrong place. Rhialto (talk) 10:01, 11 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It's happened again to me over at (https://vi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Th%E1%BA%A3o_lu%E1%BA%ADn_Th%C3%A0nh_vi%C3%AAn:Rhialto). It seems to have been triggered by me visiting that wiki for the first time. Trying to tell them that I can't read that notice seems to have resulted in me getting a tempban from editing my own page to tell them. Rhialto (talk) 09:13, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently, on (https://vi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Tin_nh%E1%BA%AFn_cho_b%E1%BA%A3o_qu%E1%BA%A3n_vi%C3%AAn#B%C3%A1o_c%C3%A1o_th%C3%A0nh_vi%C3%AAn_ph%C3%A1_ho%E1%BA%A1i), based on google translate, I have been reported as a purely malicious user, for politely requesting that notices in a language that I cannot read not be posted on my own page! Rhialto (talk) 09:18, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

That ups the ante a bit. Perhaps it should be raised on the meta, or on the email list. Andrewa (talk) 19:44, 2 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
