[edit]

Hello, I'm K6ka. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to Impact (1949 film) because they seemed inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 14:59, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi K6ka, I want to clarify that, Impact (1949 film) is a Public Domain film. and, The link I added was similar to Archive.org link.
I would like to know specifics about your decision to remove the link I added.
Thanks, Animeaddict69 (talk) 15:04, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to The Brain That Wouldn't Die. Wikipedia is not a collection of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links may include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 15:15, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The link I added was not for promotional purpose. I will make sure to add the links similar to other links that, have been added to wikipedia. Animeaddict69 (talk) 15:18, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you use Wikipedia for promotion or advertising, as you did at Impact (1949 film). ThaddeusSholto (talk) 15:17, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

How is this promotional? The film is Public Domain and, I added links similar to TCM Movie Database, IMDb, AllMovie, American Film Institute Catalog, Rotten Tomatoes, Internet Archive, and Variety.
My link adding method was exactly as same as Variety. Also, I as well as RedVilla is not benefitting from users coming to the platform. There are no ads as well as anything I or RedVilla makes money on. Animeaddict69 (talk) 15:21, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Your edits are WP:LINKSPAM. The sole purpose is to drive traffic to your own website. ThaddeusSholto (talk) 15:23, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
They are not irrelevant to the topic. I am not posting the spam links.
- The link contains what, I have published. The links I posted contains movies that are legal to stream and download because, the content being Public Domain.
- The sole purpose of posting those links was to provide users more options to there viewing. They can watch movies, download or review the movies at one place. Animeaddict69 (talk) 15:32, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I didn't understand that my edits were seen as promotional, and were problematic. I got notifications that my links were inappropriate, but I didn't knew that much about warnings, I am new to wikipedia and my actions were just a noob. In future, I'll not post links to RedVilla directly but instead use processes like edit requests to have my offered links (This links will be similar to the other links that are existed on the website) and reviewed by other editors. Also, I will work to contribute my knowledge about japanese animations to wikipedia. Animeaddict69 (talk) 22:28, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You specifically responded to the warnings to disagree with the reasons behind them, so it seems like you knew enough about them to me. Even via edit requests you won't be permitted to spam your website, you've offered no reason why it should be considered particularly authoritative; if we allow your website, we have to allow any such website. Wikipedia has no interest in providing viewing options for anime or any other program; that's what Google is for. You've not said what other topics you might edit about, so I see no grounds to remove the block. 331dot (talk) 13:37, 8 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
