Runeberg torte
[edit]You reverted my removal of your content at Tart without addressing the issue I pointed out in my original edit summary ("Runeberg torte is not a tart"). To avoid an edit war, please discuss at Talk:Tart before making further edits to the page. Ibadibam (talk) 06:11, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
the method of editing / discussing is difficult for me. Anna turnajaisissa (talk) 19:25, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
Croft
[edit]I note that you have reinstated some unreferenced material to Croft (land). Your original edit added to a sentence that was already tagged with "citation needed". That tag had been there since 2015. Your edit did not provide a reference either. A reference might have given some insight as to the relevance to the article.
Please do take a look at WP:RS. This is one of the fundamentals of how Wikipedia works. If you put something in an article, generally, that edit should be supported by a reference (or a "source"). That way, anyone else reading Wikipedia can verify that what is there is correct. A source has to be "reliable" - i.e. it is written by someone who meets certain standards of knowledge of the subject. ThoughtIdRetired (talk) 20:01, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
Do you mean the Finnish Torppari, just check it out in Finnish wikipedia, under Torppari. Swedish, https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torpare%20 and Finnish https://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torppari Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:999:51:3D64:E06E:DBE6:DFE1:8251 (talk) 20:32, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
- (1)I have looked at the entry for Torppari on Finnish Wikipedia. Thinking in "Scottish land use terminology" the Finnish article has more similarity to that of Cotter (farmer). I think we might all be at the mercy of how some dictionary compiler has translated "croft" into Finnish.
(2) Whatever is said on another Wikipedia, you still need to provide references to support any edits. ThoughtIdRetired (talk) 20:48, 18 January 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not add or change content, as you did at John III of Sweden, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. sixtynine • whaddya want? • 09:21, 25 September 2023 (UTC)
- @Beemer69
- as for Karin Hansdotter you find her on Suomen historian Pikkujättiläinen, s. 171, WSOY, Porvoo 2003
- and the rest" Nordisk Familjebok: "Titeln storfurste af Finland antogs af Johan III 1581 och ingick sedan i svenska konungatiteln, tills Finland af träddes (1809)." Anna turnajaisissa (talk) 09:25, 25 September 2023 (UTC)
- References must be added to the article, not here, if new information is added. We all have had to learn how to do that.
- "Common knowledge", as you wrote here, is not enough, and the Finnish version of his name cannot be used in text in an encyclopedia written in English. You ignored my edit summary there about each of these problems when you reverted me. That is not appropriate behavior. --SergeWoodzing (talk) 18:57, 25 September 2023 (UTC)
- @SergeWoodzing in Finland names are not translated anymore, so that is my mistake Anna turnajaisissa (talk) 19:04, 25 September 2023 (UTC)
