Don't repost
[edit]Please don't repost deleted articles without good reason. Brookie :) - a will o' the wisp ! (Whisper...) 17:13, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Saint Johns Park West, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Campaign
[edit]Sir/Madam, [As a member of the campaign it is not my intention to hijack or abuse the Wikipedia site for this I apologise if I have overstepped the boundaries by which I use this site.This campaign is active in very many counties in Ireland but I myself am mostly concerned with Tallaght and Clondalkin and as a local organisation I see it very relevant to anybody who wishes to know about as many community associations as possible in both Tallaght and Clondalkin.I feel that placing a link on the relevant sites(within the relevant categories)is not spam but a means for all visitors to access a site that operates just like sports clubs, resident associations ect, ect, in their own communities.If I am wrong here I once again apologise.If my efforts to inform as many people as possible about antisocial behaviour, by placing a link on a relevant site is then judged as spam and an act of antisocial behaviour then again I apologise for these actions. There is a very importance relevance to the Saint Johns park west site, it is the birth place from where ordinary people affected by antisocial behaviour announced "enough is enough" If my crime is posting links in order to help others who are abused, assaulted and who are mentally affected by the actions of others, then I'm sorry but I am guilty of this offence. There are people in my community who's only interest is to make sure the campaign does not expose what exactly is going on in the community.]
Once again my apologies and I ask you to reconsider deleting Johns Park West and any other links that are placed in the appropriate categories within Wikipedia. If this is not possible then I accept your final judgement on this matter.I would appreciate your help and advice in my continued use of Wikipedia Regards Paul
- Paul. Firstly, thanks for responding here. Secondly, to put it very simply "Links mainly intended to promote a website" are not appropriate per the External links guidelines of this project. At the VERY least, links are supposed to be "relevant to the content of the article". (Hence adding links about "antisocial behaviour" issues to an article about a GAA club is TOTALLY inappropriate.) I would strongly recommend that your read What Wikipedia is not paying particular to the fact that Wikipedia is not a soapbox (for your agenda or anybobdy else's). To put it simply, if you aim is (as you state) to "inform as many people as possible about antisocial behaviour" then you are in the wrong place. Wikipedia is not a promotional tool for commerical interests, OR for community/nonprofit groups. I sincerely hope that you find something else here for you. But please stop indiscrimiately posting that link. Regards. Guliolopez (talk) 23:30, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
Saint Johns Park West
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Saint Johns Park West, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
