Discrimination, Racism

Would you categorize the articles on Americentrism or the United States under Discrimination and Racism because of the treatment of Native Americans or because the Constitution did not originally prevent slavery and Civil Rights took until the 1960s?

I disagree, my understanding of Eurocentrism is a view and definition of the world from a particular perspective, if we label this as racism and discrimination, what else should we label, Manifest Destiny and American Exceptionalism? The section in Eurocentrism on White supremacy is offtopic and already tagged as such. I see it as discrimination because of the many non-European cultures wiped out in the name of 'progress' and 'civilizing' by the Europeans, like the Native Americans. That's why I disagree with you. Arthur1884, December 30, 2013 11:39pm EST

Okay, I agree with you and I think anyone who studied the subject objectively also would. But that’s not what Eurocentrism is about. There are articles that address this topic such as Genocides in history#Americas. There is wikipedia policy that says we should not use Wikipedia to right great wrongs. Using powerful labels like discrimination and racism where the link is not clear undermines the strength of those terms.
