August 2009[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to the page Category:Musical groups from Louisiana (U.S. state) has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, please ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thank you. Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to the page Jerry Lee Lewis. Such edits constitute vandalism and are reverted. Please do not continue to make unconstructive edits to pages; use the sandbox for testing. Thank you. Chevy Impala 2009 00:51, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • i was adding to the artist from Louisiana page I made, but their was already a louisiana artist page so I corrected it on the Jerry Lee Lewis page to the one that was already made. I was trying to be proactive.

Please do not vandalize pages, as you did with this edit to Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2009 August 20. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing. Chevy Impala 2009 00:57, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • How did I vandalize?

A tag has been placed on The American Tragedy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. <>Multi-Xfer<> (talk) 03:14, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 04:21, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The American Tragedy[edit]

Because it did not appear to assert notability. <>Multi-Xfer<> (talk) 04:33, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The news articles you've provided establish notability, so I've removed the speedy template. <>Multi-Xfer<> (talk) 04:40, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Improving[edit]

Hi again, just a suggestion for improving American Tragedy: have a look at WP:CITE and read through some of the example citation styles. This will provide you with information on how to create inline citations for the article. <>Multi-Xfer<> (talk) 22:12, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The customary purpose of the admin review pages is an overall assessment of all my actions, not a place to lodge individual grievances. If you have a problem with the deletion, the place to come is my talkpage - I am not an unreasonable man, I do change my mind when good arguments are presented, or I can point you to the next place to try and get the article restored. But judging me based on a single, as yet unchallenged, deletion isn't the way to start. Hopefully see you on my talkpage in due courseFritzpoll (talk) 07:16, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:The American Tragedy Promo 2009.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:The American Tragedy Promo 2009.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 13:49, 25 August 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. feydey (talk) 13:49, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Not a problem I put the source link in the comments of the image. Thank you for correcting me.

File copyright problem with File:Image_of_The_American_Tragedy.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Image_of_The_American_Tragedy.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Chris G Bot (talk) 00:16, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Better source request for File:Promo of The American Tragedy.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Promo of The American Tragedy.jpg. You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 19:50, 30 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
