License tagging for Image:Citizen kane1.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Citizen kane1.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 20:07, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi Ashleynin, I noticed you have put a lot of effort into this article. Unfortunately it looks a lot more like a resume than an encyclopedia article. Take a look at some other Wikipedia articles and the Manual of Style to get an idea of how an article should be layed out. Mostly because of the formatting and partly because the article is unreferenced this article is being considered for deletion. You can rescue it by adding references (where did you find this info on Noam?). You can also help by doing the reformatting, but don't worry so much about that as others can help. I noticed your edits to the article. It's coming along well. The last touch is to improve the lead paragragh. Check out this link for help. Clerks. 15:32, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Here are a couple more pointers. References are usually third party sources, like a newspaper, journal or magazine article. The Columbia bio is definitely an External link. The lead section is too long. It should be a quick blurb that convinces the reader of the person's significance. It's getting better. Clerks. 21:06, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of GridApp Clarity

[edit]

A tag has been placed on GridApp Clarity, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Mayalld (talk) 13:49, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of GridApp Clarity, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.gridapp.com/products/clarity.php. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 13:57, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of GridApp Clarity

[edit]

A tag has been placed on GridApp Clarity requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
