Por cierto, eso que me has comentado me hizo surgir una duda... ¿Crees que en algunos "casos excepcionales" como en el caso de Antoni Gaudí sea válido (o mejor dicho, esté justificado) que el parámetro "nationality" aparezca en el infobox?... Te pregunto por casos como ese específicamente porque si observas el lead en el artículo de Gaudí notarás que no se le describe como "Spanish", sino como "Catalan from Spain", una frase que quizá pueda parecer un poco confusa o engañosa principalmente para alguien que no esté familiarizado con España y su historia, porque quizá podría dar a entender que Cataluña es un país independiente cuando en realidad no lo es... Lo que quiero decir es: ¿En casos cómo ese crees que sí estaría justificado que el parámetro "nationality" esté en el infobox?

El usuario Crystallizedcarbon (que también es español) me ayudó con respecto a eso: originalmente el artículo de Gaudí se refería a él como "Catalan architect" sin hacer referencia a su país de ciudadanía, y el usuario Crystallizedcarbon dió argumentos al usuario que se oponía a que el término "Spain" apareciera en el lead y finalmente, después de una discusión que tomó mucho tiempo y esfuerzo, Crystallizedcarbon logró que finalmente el lead fuera cambiado a "Catalan from Spain" Aziyade Gil (talk) 02:32, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hola Asqueladd, quisiera pedirte por favor ayuda para traducir dos oraciones: Sucede que estoy preparando un artículo para ser creado en English Wikipedia acerca de una locutora de radio y actriz cubana llamada "Massiel Dueñas". La mayor parte del contenido que he llevado al inglés con el traductor de Google me ha quedado bastante bien; pero esas dos oraciones a las que me refiero, al ser traducidas no quedan bien.

Por eso te pido tu ayuda: quisiera pedirte (si no es mucha molestia) si en base a tus conocimientos de idioma inglés pudieras traducirme esas dos oraciones de modo que queden bien y después enviarme la traducción en un mensaje de respuesta. Te prometo que después de esto no te volveré a molestar para ninguna traducción. Las oraciones son las siguientes:

"Hasta la edad de un año, Dueñas vivió con sus padres en el municipio habanero de Miramar."

"Dueñas comenzó su carrera en la radiodifusión en el año 2004 y luego pasó a la televisión como actriz."

En realidad lo que habitualmente yo hago cuando tengo alguna duda con respecto a alguna frase hecha con traductor de Google es que le pido ayuda a una traductora profesional que yo conozco y que trabaja conmigo. Yo trabajo en el Instituto Cubano de Radio y Televisión, específicamente en el canal Cubavision International; y ella es traductora de inglés en ese canal, pero ahora ella está de vacaciones durante algunos días. Stop tag-bombing articles[edit]

You know, you are allowed to just make articles better. Most of the things you are tagging at History of Europe can just be fixed by yourself without tagging them. Things like wording changes and phrasing can take no more time to correct than adding a tag does. If you don't agree with what is written there, just fix it yourself. If you have the time and energy to type the letters in a tag, you have the time and energy to type the letters that would fix the problem you are tagging. --Jayron 32 13:21, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Look, since you insist on tagging the article instead, here's a compromise. Why don't you type the replacement text you would like to see here on your talk page, and I'll copy it over for you. I'm not sure why that is easier than just fixing the text yourself, but as you are reticent to add your own, better text to the article, I'll gladly do it for you. You obviously have the correct words in your mind for what should be written there. Just type them here on your talk page and I'll put them in. Win-win situation: the article gets better, and you get to continue not being the one to make it better, which you seem to, for reasons I can't fathom, not want to actually put the words that improve the article into it directly. --Jayron 32 13:53, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Jayron32: I will try. You (and I) are trying to pull the very ambitious attempt of summarizing the history of Europe in a nutshell, I guess trying to step away from overly stretched narratives and nailing a solid big picture of affairs without blind spots. Really, mate, we should be careful with generalizations, because if we are not careful, we end up inadvertently applying generalizations, big words and framings (and undue weight to processes) associated to national histories and visions of history. I agree with you there. I was trying to expand the lead of the article, which was previously a single short paragraph, into something more in line with the length of the article and the breadth of the topic. I invite and encourage you and anyone else to improve my recent changes. My only objection is that tagging is not an improvement, especially when the tags are so easily fixed. I know I'm not a perfect writer, and your wording changes represent a big improvement over mine. Please continue to improve the writing as you see fit, but please don't just slap "dubious" on something where the phrasing is either facile, improper, or misleading. If you find it so, you obviously have an idea what it should say, so just do so. I find it far less insulting if you just go fix my text and make it actually better than slapping a tag on it and wandering away leaving others to read your mind and try to figure out what you find wrong. Andalusia article, spelling of Córdoba in English[edit]

Hello, you undid an edit I made to the article Andalusia with the following edit summary: "This is one valid, apparently, as the title suggests.". I am unsure what that's supposed to mean and which title you are referring to. If you mean the title of the article Córdoba, you'll notice that it's written with an acute accent. Just click that link to Template:Award category and you’ll see an example (plus explanation). You can click to edit source code if that’s easier too. Basically you want the whole award and its title in the same cell (box); so no dividers between cells vertically if you’re editing source. I think if you’re editing visually you might be able to just merge the cells… but I could be wrong.
