Draft:Reya Sunshine
I just saw your post on the Articles for Deletion for Taylor St. Claire, which seemed to be a very judicious view of the sourcing. If you've got the time, I'd be curious about your view of the strength of my sourcing on my Draft: Reya Sunshine article, which was declined for publication on 20 December, although I've made a few edits to it since then. I just want to turn in an article that's strong enough for publication - much thanks! Ajax0714 (talk) 22:41, 30 December 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, am a bit busy at present but will have an in-depth assessment next week, regards Atlantic306 (talk) 23:47, 30 December 2022 (UTC)
- No prob - much thanks indeed!! Ajax0714 (talk) 23:52, 30 December 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, I checked through the references and the only reliable ones with significant coverage were avn and xbiz which were interviews which are not considered independent by some editors but if they were accepted it still isn't quite enough for WP:GNG in my view. Though you are free to resubmit amd another reviewer may take a different view, regards Atlantic306 (talk) 23:17, 3 January 2023 (UTC)
- Got it - I certainly appreciate the response! Ajax0714 (talk) 23:44, 3 January 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks again for taking a look! I realized I had another more technical question: even if an article doesn't meet WP:GNG, which is the basic criteria, it still has a chance to be notable if it meets the specific criteria as outlined in WP: BIO, correct? I noticed the following would be applied to porn actors:
- Has had significant roles in multiple notable films, television shows, stage performances, or other productions; or
- Has made unique, prolific or innovative contributions to a field of entertainment. (Previously #3)
- Ajax0714 (talk) 00:45, 7 January 2023 (UTC)
- Not really, that is additional criteria that suggests "people are likely to be notable if they meet any of the following standards. Failure to meet these criteria is not conclusive proof that a subject should not be included; conversely, meeting one or more does not guarantee that a subject should be included." Effectively it is down to passing GNG that clinches it. Also notability for films means the film should pass WP:GNG which hardly any modern porn films do, regards Atlantic306 (talk) 21:47, 7 January 2023 (UTC)

Regarding the Kingikmiut School bear attack article
I am aware that Wikipedia is not a news site, and is instead an encyclopedia. I decided to pursue creating this article because while bear attacks are not exactly rare, the circumstances surrounding this particular attack seemed particularly notable. Other bear attacks have covered in Wikipedia articles, such as in the Sloth bear of Mysore and Sankebetsu brown bear incident.
The reason why I feel that this particular attack was particularly notable was not just because the bear killed more than one person, but also because the bear tried to make entry into the Kingikmiut School and terrorized the residents of Wales, Alaska before it was finally killed.
I know that if the worse possible outcome had occurred in Wales, this incident would absolutely warrant a Wikipedia article. But as it currently stands, I could understand it going either way, but I personally believe that given the circumstances of the attack, this is a notable enough of an event to warrant an article and that it does not violate Wikipedia:NOT#NEWS.
Regardless, thank you for taking the time to review my article. RaskBunzzz (talk) 16:17, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, while it was undoubtedly a tragic event, the reason I turned it down was that there was no evidence of lasting impact such as new legislation or changes in safety procedure. Another reviewer may take a different view so if you resubmit i'll leave it for someone else to reassess, regards Atlantic306 (talk) 21:37, 22 January 2023 (UTC)

Carolco revisions
This is the first time I've had to do this, but I talked with a friend of mine, Sammi Brie, who advised me on what to do in this situation.
The Carolco article's one of many articles that's been edited as of late by DucNguyen0131. He's autistic, and somehow he got access to the backissues of Variety and has been editing in lots of crufty, often unnecessary information he got from all these sources. He also clearly doesn't have a very good grasp of English or grammar, and his phrasing heavily copies what the original citation articles said, not modifying the text to make more sense in the context of the article; consequently his edits often leave you wondering what the heck he's talking about.
The Carolco article bore the hallmarks of his editing, so I sought to perform damage control by removing the cruft and making things actually make sense; I've done this before with other articles. Just one problem: I didn't use the "reason for editing" thing. I never think to use it really. Sammi told me to start doing that from now on because that was a major reason why you reverted my changes. I'm going to roll it back and hope you read this and don't roll it back again. Thank you for your time. Tmisch64 (talk) 17:37, 12 April 2023 (UTC)
