[edit]Hello Auratrinty. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Landy Francis Eng, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Auratrinty. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Auratrinty|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. scope_creepTalk 18:52, 14 September 2020 (UTC)
@Scope creep: My apologies for not complying with the Wikipedia disclosure requirements. I am not being compensated, but did create the page Landy Francis Eng as part of an unpaid internship project. I have followed your advice and added a disclosure on my page to reflect this. I have noted your comments on the deletion page for Landy Francis Eng and wonder if it could be reverted to an older (more sparse version)such as this [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Landy_Francis_Eng&oldid=961343291 page. All of the sources for the article are from old newspaper articles published between (1980-1995) that could be scanned and uploaded to signify possible notability.
But I do understand the COI editing policies and that this may not be amenable. Trying to understand the scope of what can be done to keep the page (if at all possible). Thank you for your reviewing/assistance in this regard. Auratrinty (talk) 09:23, 21 September 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks. Please vote in the Afd and explain why you think it should be kept. Make sure you provide WP:THREE references that show it is notable. scope_creepTalk 11:08, 21 September 2020 (UTC)

AfC notification: Draft:Landy Francis Eng has a new comment
[edit]I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission, as follows:
I have checked the sources: 1. This is a promotional interview, where he says whatever he pleases. 2. LATimes, semi-promotional , but usable 3.Straight PR 4.STimes , semi-promotional , but usable 5.his own site 6.Hong Kong Standard. , semi-promotional , but usable 7.promotional interview, where he says whatever he pleases. 8.AsianWeek, , semi-promotional , but usable 9. AsianWeek, , semi-promotional , but usable 10.Bangalore Business Standard, promotional 11.Business Times Singapore, promotional 12.STreats(?), promotional interview
That gives 2,4, 8 and 9 as acceptable refs. (8 & 9 are about the political candidacy)
I consider this borderline. If it had not been paid editing , I would consider it good enough for mainspace, but I'm not sure if the community would or would not delete it. Since it is paid editing, I do not, for the factthat it's paid will influence the community's decision towards deletion. (but this is perhaps bias due to the several hours I needed to work on it. ) I'm leaving it for another reviewer.
. Thanks! DGG ( talk ) 17:20, 16 July 2021 (UTC)AfC notification: Draft:Landy Francis Eng has a new comment
