A tag has been placed on File:Photo of Author Lucian A. Sperta- Nunez.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. -- ТимофейЛееСуда. 18:58, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on User:Azarel63, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an acceptable page. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item G11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this page is not blatant advertising, . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. You are welcome to edit the page to fix this problem, but please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. As well as removing promotional phrasing, it helps to add factual encyclopaedic information to the page, and add citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the page will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Musamies (talk) 19:38, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Book covers

[edit]

Hi, just to say that the book covers have been deleted because they were not flagged as non-free files. Book covers (like CD covers, posters etc.) are copyrighted, and so when you upload one, you need to choose the "This is a copyrighted, non-free work, but I believe it is Fair Use." option. Our guidelines for non-free files can be found at WP:NFCC. Thanks, Black Kite (talk) 06:50, 6 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

So can I reload the book covers and tag them COPYRIGHT?

You were mentioned

[edit]

Azarel63, you were mentioned here on the ANI board. You might want to come on over and respond as it involves your userpage.

A quick summary of it is this: Your userpage is not meant to be used as if it were an article, it can't be promotional. In order to have an article about yourself (or anyone, really) it has to have reliable sources per this guideline, the person, place or event has to be notable, per this guideline and the article has to conform to general guidelines like our manual of style and other items. It's a bit of a learning curve. However, if you want, you can visit Wikipedia's TeaHouse , a spot on Wikipedia that's specially set up to help new Wikipedians get a handle on how everything works on wikipedia.

You should know, if any article doesn't conform to the above guidelines, it can be deleted, and no one really wants to do that, so please, first respond on the ani board, then go to the teahouse and read up, then when you're ready to create this article, visit the article creation page where you can create this article and get feedback on what needs to happen for the article to be Wikipedia ready.

NO one wants to be a dick when it comes to other peoples articles, but the guidelines and rules here are a bit different, so take time to learn them, then feel free to create more article.  KoshVorlon. We are all Kosh   12:09, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Can't you just subpage his userpage and direct him to editing it there? He probably doesn't know where best to paste his first ideas than on a userpage. Or even one better yet, have him use the new draft namespace we just came up with, that's a pretty safe spot to test some of the wikicode. TeleComNasSprVen (talkcontribs) 12:12, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It's very hard getting used to this wiki, but the central policies for Wikipedia mainly discuss two issues of articles: notability and verifiability. That is, is the topic of an article of such notable significance that it can be included on Wikipedia? And if so, can reliable third-party sources such as news websites prove the existence or significance of such a topic? From there, most articles have to follow the some of the strict guidelines presented in the Manual of Style, which is the outline for what all articles should have as the basis for their information. If you're planning on doing an article about living people, you'd need to look up the biographies of living people guidelines, and if you're closely affiliated with them or are them you'd need to look up conflict of interest guidelines. All very wiki-formal, and all bureaucratic. TeleComNasSprVen (talkcontribs) 12:16, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I could, but he might think his work was deleted, I'd rather him do this on his own (if he's willing), as this will help him learn the process.  KoshVorlon. We are all Kosh   14:53, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi I received all the emails. This is a very difficult process to learn. It took me months juts to learn how to save the article, how to save pictures, so on and so forth. Azarel63 .... The Teahouse is a good place to start for beginners, so is this link . Start there , read and ask questions. Wikipedia takes a while to learn, but it's worth it.
