Edit summaries[edit]

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. -- JHunterJ 00:26, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I'll try to fill these fields next time. --Bahnemann 00:32, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Register balance, by Kelapstick (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Register balance fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

wikipedia is not a dictionary

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Register balance, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Register balance itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 16:08, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am afraid your request for speedy deletion had to be declined, as it was not according to formal move procedure. If you would still like to move the page to the destination you requested, please make a formal move request as outlined in Wikipedia:Requested moves. Thank you. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Equity ratio, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.selfgrowth.com/articles/Definition_Debt_to_Equity.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
