How to fix a name link?

[edit]

I found a page where the name of a person is in brackets but they have a common name, so the page that it links to is not the same person... How do I fix that? Beevolant (talk) 22:34, 13 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Beevolant,
You can use the following code to link to a page with a different name. name to display Fishfingers would lead to the Fish finger page but display Fishfingers as the link name. Amortias (T)(C) 23:11, 13 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
If we don't have an article on the person that's meant, you may instead want to simply remove the brackets to remove the incorrect link (please leave an edit summary that explains why you do so). Or, if we don't have an article but you think the person would be a valid subject for an article, add some disambiguation to the link target: For example, instead of John Doe we could have John Doe which will still look like "John Doe" but will actually be a link to the "John Doe (game designer)" article (or a redlink if the target doesn't exist). Cool! Thanks! I think I did it :) Beevolant (talk) 00:22, 14 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
