Edit summaries

[edit]

Hi Beusson. When you are adding interwiki links, as you recently did to 1969 Spanish Grand Prix, would it be possible for you to add an edit summary indicating the change you have made? It means that people like me who are watching the page don't actually have to examine the diff to see what the change was. The edit summary doesn't need to be very long - just "iw" would be enough. Thanks, DH85868993 22:42, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, that's great! DH85868993 09:09, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Cross-wiki spam reversions

[edit]

Apologies for contacting you here, I couldn't find the unblock procedure on ca.wp where you've blocked me. I'm an admin on this wiki.

The tactics of these cross-wiki spammers is they insert about 4kB of legitimate looking text to disguise their spam reference. There's at least 150 accounts doing the same thing on multiple wikis with what appears to be automatically generated usernames, nearly all locked as spam-only (the ones that haven't I discovered this morning). They've been doing this for at least a year. The content is not trustworthy (1) because of the systematic abuse and (2) it is often supported by content marketing blogs typically for SEO purposes. See m:Talk:Wikiproject:Antispam#alpha-performance.com_etc. for the list and m:Wikiproject:Antispam/Archives/2023/Bulk text reference addition spam for older spam.
