Update to Greentech Media Page

[edit]

Hi TipToety and Mean_As_Custard, I am trying to understand why I my updates to Greentech Media are being met with rejection and my edit privileges being blocked. I do not believe I am promoting anything, simply refreshing content that supports GTMs business. I had even listed a few references. Can you please provide specific steps I need to take to update page correctly and get re-certified as editor. I appreciate your help very much.

Thank you Brendanrp (talk) 17:13, 18 March 2014 (UTC) Brendanrp[reply]

Request reason:

no reason for block

Decline reason:

Two good reasons for block. Firstly, your articles on Greentech are obviously PR-speak promotional puff articles. Secondly, you are an obvious sockpuppet' a fact which you will need to address in any future unblock request. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 17:46, 18 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

i am new editor and tyring to update page, i am told that i am promoting, which i do no believe I am. Are there specific examples for which i was blocked - if so, i will certainly fix them. I am not attempting to promote, simply update the greentech media page. I even have sources I can cite.

thanks Brendanrp (talk) 17:17, 18 March 2014 (UTC) brendanrp[reply]

I have gone through my edits and deleted all descriptors and adjectives, so my update is very straighforward and not objective. perhaps you would unblock me so I may enter my new content? thank you

hi Anthony_bradbury,

no sockpuppet here, but i understand the block reason. I have made necessary changes and am hoping to be unblocked so I may re-attempt at updating greentech media page. no pr puff. just starightforward,non-objective information. thank you Brendanrp (talk) 17:53, 18 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A block is applied to a person, not to a specific account. Given that you are blocked at this account, by your last edit you have admitted block evasion by editing from another account, or as an IP. Which was it? I would also point out that just denying sockpuppetry in the face of the evidence is not going to be persuasive. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 22:03, 18 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

rI am first time editor and i understand my mistakes that led me to being blocked

Decline reason:

I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Yunshui  19:51, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

hi, i am a first - time editor here and I was blocked and I understand why. I was using may "opinionated" words and being objective with adjective and descriptors. I understand why I was blocked. I have learned my lesson, and I understand what i need to do to be a unbiased editor. i am hoping to be un-blocked and reinstated. thank you Brendanrp (talk) 13:47, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I will not determine this request, having done so on your previous one. But I would suggest that until you address the sockpuppetry issue - and merely denying it will not be acceptable - it is unlikely that another admin will unblock you.--Anthony Bradbury"talk" 14:15, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi thank you for hearing my plea. As a first time editor, I was not sure of exact protocol and my attempts at editing were meant with a user block. I now understand what I was doing wrong. That behavior and attitude will not continue. I intent to be a useful and unbiased contributor. Thank you very much, Brendanrp (talk) 21:15, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You still have not addressed your abuse of multiple accounts. Until that issue is dealt with, you will not be unblocked. Yunshui  09:01, 20 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I understand I was sockpuppeting and I understand I was wrong, I am know what I did, and I am asking for a second chanceBrendanrp (talk) 15:16, 21 March 2014 (UTC)}}[reply]

HI, I am hoping to be considered for unblocking. I work at greentech media and was attempting to update their wikipedia entry. I was not stating facts but added a lot of pr puff. This was wrong. I have no excuses. But I have learned my lesson. I understand that this forum is for unbiased information. I do apologize for wasting your time and being arrogant in my editing. I would like to be a useful contributor in the future. I understand where I made my mistakes and I understand the appropriate behavior needed going forward. Thank you for your consideration to granting me a second chance. I have never abused any account or had any history of abuse other than this single page. Brendanrp (talk) 15:16, 21 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

First, I have turned your second unblock request into statement: you're only permitted one active unblock request at a time. So, now that you're aware that you should not be editing any article that you have conflict of interest with, and that you can not mention or link to your employer in other articles, what types of things do you intend to edit in the future, and what types of valid sources do you intend to use? Please be somewhat specific. DP 09:34, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

will not edit or comment on pages I am affiliated with

Decline reason:

You have apologized for wasting the community's time, which indeed you have; however you gave the wrong reason. What you have truly wasted our time with is this empty unblock requests. And even this one is unsatisfactory, as noted below. In addition to declining this I'm going to do what should have been done a long time ago ... revoke your talk page access. That way you won't have to worry about apologizing anymore. — Daniel Case (talk) 14:38, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for taking the time to hear my request for unblocking. I will not comment or edit on pages in whcih I have a direct interest or am affiliated with. I do apologize for wasting the communitys time with my efforts to update the greentech media wiki page. I value the responsibility of being a member and will no longer be sockpuppeting.

thank you in advance for the opportunity to request the unblock. thank you

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should read the guide to appealing blocks, then contact administrators by submitting a request to the Unblock Ticket Request System. If you have already appealed to the Unblock Ticket Request System and been declined you may appeal to the Arbitration Committee's Ban Appeals Subcommittee. Please note that there could be appeals to the unblock ticket request system that have been declined leading to the post of this notice.
