[edit]Did the message appear before you login to your Wikipedia account? If so, it's probable that it was meant for someone else. AOL has a number of proxies which are used by all its members, which causes that kind of confusion routinely. If they are obviously not meant for you, just ignore them. --cesarb 21:14, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Greetings. I hope I'm in the right place as I'm unfamiliar with this process.
Someone named Zoe (whom I have never heard of or conversed with) has apparently blocked me from editing certain pages having to do with the Baha'i Faith. This was a complete shock to me as I don't know who this is or why it was done, nor have I received any message or other notification about it. (This individual may have objected to certain facts I've posted in this series of articles; I don't know.) I would appreciate being unblocked again. Thank you. BruceDLimber
- You are not blocked; if you were, you wouldn't be able to edit Wikipedia:Account suspensions. The problem is that AOL changes your IP address all the time, and one of these addresses happened to be blocked. It's also not possible currently to block a user from editing only certain pages; it's all or nothing. --cesarb 16:19, 26 August 2005 (UTC)
OK; that must have been what happened then, because I definitely can edit other areas. Here's hoping AOL gets its act together soon!
Thanks! :-)
Bruce
I'm just leaving a message to tell you that I've answered your question at Wikipedia:Help desk in case you don't see it. I hope that is the answer you're looking for. :D Hyenaste (tell) 20:25, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
Bruce, be assured that the song referred to "Bantry Bay" and not "Bounty Bay". It is possible that the word Bantry was incorrectly transcribed at some point as Bounty and then published. The reference is to Gulf's oil trans-shipment terminal at Whiddy Island, Bantry Bay. See Betelgeuse incident. I like your addition to the Gulf article, but adding the full words of the song to the Betelgeuse article might seem a little frivolous. best wishes. Bob BScar23625 08:12, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
Commentary in articles
[edit]Hi Bruce, please don't leave commentary about articles in the articles themselves, as you did in Diamond. If you want to raise a question about the article, please do so in the article's Talk page - Talk:Diamond in this case. Thanks, Gwernol 14:02, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
