The article Ground Up has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- WP:TOOSOON - Group does not appear to meet the notability requirements at WP:BAND.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Nat Gertler (talk) 03:18, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Phyllis' Giant Burgers
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Phyllis' Giant Burgers requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Tofutwitch11 (TALK) 02:53, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
Ground Up
[edit]What the article requires (and didn't have) is reliable sources, independent of the topic, which demonstrated that they meet even one of the notability criteria for musical groups as spelled out at WP:MUSIC. Having a page on last.fm doesn't cut it by itself, because anybody can create a page on there about any artist at any time — and neither does having released one downloadable mixtape that claims "thousands" of downloads, but offers no source to verify the actual truth of that claim. What matters is whether or not the band has received actual media coverage in reputable, authoritative sources such as newspapers, music magazines, radio airplay, and the like.
It really isn't anything against the band themselves, but Wikipedia isn't a place where emerging new bands are allowed to come advertise themselves in an attempt to become notable — you need to demonstrate that a band's notability has already been established, through coverage in real, reliable media sources, before the band is allowed to be on here. Our purpose here isn't to help people become famous, no matter how deserving or talented they may be; it's to pull together sources that already exist about people whose notability has already been established by sources other than us. Speedy deletion nomination of User:Bucksta111/Phyllis Giant Burgers
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on User:Bucksta111/Phyllis Giant Burgers, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Legacypac (talk) 20:32, 27 May 2017 (UTC)
