RCA Dimensia[edit]

Actually there really were reports from retailers of customers murmuring things such as "is it demented" though this didn't mean much; it was such a high-end luxury item that if you were gonna get it you were gonna get it. Daniel Christensen (talk) 03:04, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

It was supossed to sound like dimension; "the next dimension in sight and sound". Daniel Christensen (talk) 18:19, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I figured that. And "Dimensia" looks fine in print. But when said out loud, the lameness of that marketing decision becomes obvious.  :-) [But of course it's not the first time a big corporation made a bone-headed decision, and it won't be the last!] Captain Quirk (talk) 21:09, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
Yeah in 1985 they started calling the audio components the "Digital Command Componenet System" they were exactly the same they just took the name Dimensia off of them; they still had the control jack and everything. You should revisit the Dimensia page I just recently rewrote it and added a lot. I didn't realize how badly I had written it and how confusing it was (and may still be) to someone who doesn't know what it is. Daniel Christensen (talk) 19:18, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

Talk page removals[edit]

Two things you should be aware of:

  1. Wikipedia is not edited to remove spoilers.
  2. It is rarely appropriate to edit or remove others' comments on Talk pages.

Thanks. -Jason A. Quest (talk) 22:37, 31 May 2015 (UTC)

Floatstick diagram[edit]

Hi Captain Quirk,

It's only been 6 years since you pointed out that the floatstick article could do with a diagram, and already one has been provided! Let no one say that Wikipedians are slow to react :-] --Slashme (talk) 22:26, 6 January 2017 (UTC)

Wow, only six years? Why the rush?  :-) Looks great -- that's a huge improvement. Having a diagram like that makes ALL the difference. Now I can easily see how they work. Thanks! Captain Quirk (talk) 08:56, 7 January 2017 (UTC)
