Speedy deletion nomination of Manuel Cardona
[edit]A tag has been placed on Manuel Cardona, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing no content to the reader. Please note that external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article don't count as content. Moreover, please add more verifiable sources, not only 3rd party sources. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Ratibgreat (talk) 19:44, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
Hey there. We appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, especially while trying to create an English version article on Manuel Cardona. However, without sufficient content in the article to establish his notability, the article can be speedied. If you want to develop an article until it's ready to be moved to Wikipedia, you can try using subpages against your username; you can create a suitable article at User:CardonaUSA/Manuel Cardona until it's ready to be moved. Or you can look up other ways to create a new article. Cheers! Ratibgreat (talk) 19:46, 19 September 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Dr Cardona.
Wikipedia is a bureaucracy. Protocols need to be maintained in order to perform an action as trivial as editing a typo from 'teh' to 'the'.
The problem with the article you put up is that it did not establish the notability of the person. Having an article on all people of the world would be unrealistic, and hence, Wikipedia has certain rules of what articles are notable or not, and can be found here. The notability was not established in the article that I nominated for speedy deletion.
Given the fact that Manuel Cardona has articles in other Wikipedia languages, we can safely assume that the person is notable. Therefore, if someone would translate the article to English, along with references (preferably in English), and put them up, that'd be great. Since you know how to write an article, you can go ahead and do so yourself. Make sure the article that you upload the first time has sufficient information to establish notability. There's no need to create a provisional article. It's in the nature of Wikipedia to brutally attack any new articles, and very short ones without sufficient information often get deleted soon. If you want to develop your article slowly, please consider creating a subpage against your username. By clicking User:CardonaUSA/Manuel Cardona you can create a provisional article without being scrutinized. Once you're done, you can move it to the article space.
The other problem with the Manuel Cardona article is you. I assume you are Manuel Cardona himself, and therefore, you cannot create an article about yourself under any circumstances. The policies are outlined here, but the gist of it is that you will have subtle subconscious biases when you write your autobiography. So the solution we can have is, you create the article with proper citations and referencing on your subpage (as mentioned above), and I, or some other editor, can proofread and cross-reference the article and upload it in the article space.
Lastly, you can communicate with me by clicking on the talk button next to my signature, and clicking on Add topic whilst in my user talk. Hope to hear from you. Cheers!

- Hi Dr Cardona. Your message has found me. If you are interested in an article about yourself, please feel free to translate one of the many existing articles to English by creating the subpage User:CardonaUSA/Manuel Cardona (just click on the red link and start). Make sure you add inline citations. Once you're done, give me a holler and I'll do the rest. Take care. Ratibgreat (talk) 12:58, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

- Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. Ratibgreat (talk) 12:58, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
- Kindly just slap the reference URLs (in English) as well. Ratibgreat (talk) 11:45, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
