Hi

Welcome, and a message about your draft

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed that you started a draft at Draft:Furries. We already have an article about the furry fandom (and other related articles in the category) which you may want to contribute to.

However, I'd recommend you go through a tutorial first. It goes over the basics of how to edit constructively, including the most important rules (policies and guidelines) on Wikipedia. Unfortunately, your draft doesn't seem to follow the rule of Wikipedia is not a publisher of original thought. In short, Wikipedia is not for sharing personal ideas and opinions, but rather for summarizing knowledge that is available in reliable published sources (things like news articles, books, and academic/scholarly journals). Talk pages, like Talk:Furry fandom are for discussing improvements to the article, not for general discussion about the subject.

You can see this in action at the existing furry fandom article: Information is based on outside sources, with citations/references (the numbers in brackets) that show what parts come from which sources. Also, you may notice that the article does not give its own opinion of the fandom, positive or negative. Instead, it describes the fandom and includes the opinions of others that appear in reliable sources.

This may be a lot to take in, but I hope this doesn't discourage you from contributing. Again, the tutorial will cover the basics, and if you need any more help, you can ask questions at the Teahouse. Thank you!
