Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because your account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  • Provide a new username.

To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 19:57, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I do not understand your reasoning for page deletion. There is nothing that is advertising or promoting drafted on this article. It discusses a water retailer, all of which has sources and is public knowledge. Simply look at Ofwat and gov.uk if you are unsure. This has also been done by other water retailers e.g. Water Plus, Business Stream, Thames Water etc. All content mentioned is factual and adheres to guidance. This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

Request reason:

Want to create an article within the scope of WikiProject Companies, a collaborative effort to improve the coverage of companies on Wikipedia

Decline reason:

You will need to make the Terms of Use-required paid editing disclosure. Wikipedia is not a place for companies to tell about themselves and what they do- articles about companies should summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about the company, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable company. We're going to want to see a history of edits in areas unrelated to your company and its field before permitting you to indirectly contribute about your company. Please tell what other topics you might edit about. If you have no other interest here, this is the end of the road. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 08:25, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I assume that you don't want "Your proposed new" in your username. What is your connection to this company? 331dot (talk) 16:10, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies, can this be removed from username. I work within this company and would simply like to create an article that describes the company. Basically I would like to contribute to Wiki corporate and create an article page that describes how we contribute to the UK water industry. Other water retailers have already created wiki articles e.g., Business Stream, Water Plus; as have many UK water wholesalers. I am simply looking to do the same and share how we operate and contribute to the overall market. This will all be factual only information, cited and sourced from relevant articles, as well as our Ofwat licence, which is in line with Wiki policies. I do not want to advertise or promote the company (I also understand that this goes against wiki policies). If you have any advice or guidance related to the above that would be much appreciated.
