AMA Request

[edit]

I've taken a look at your case and if you would like to discuss some more I would be happy to point out some areas where I think you are running into trouble with your arguments. --Wgfinley 04:36, 23 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Of course! But please don't just take my own arguments as the end-all for whether or not something is wrong there. A whole host of people who have made much better arguments on the article have come before me, and they've been treated the same way. I have more tried to point out the bad behavior than anything. --Cbaus 05:19, 27 December 2005 (EDST-USA)

Civility warning

[edit]

Please don't use incivil edit summaries such as this [1]. Also, you might wish to consider WP:POT; having checked your contribution history, I find you do little other than the Lott article William M. Connolley (talk) 18:21, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

John Lott plagiarism

[edit]

Your recent edit, [2], is revealed to be plagiarism by a quick search of the title of the article you tried to cite, [3] (The article you actually cited, [4] is just PR from a blog). I must ask you if your previous edit, [5], was plagiarism, too. Was it? WhyDoIKeepForgetting (talk) 20:29, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Let me back off that a bit: plagiarism implies intent. It was a long, direct quote, though not identified as such, which is not allowed here. WhyDoIKeepForgetting (talk) 20:30, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for backing off, because I wasn't intent on plagarizing, but rather on quoting the story. I reworked it, though, and provided a link to the news story rather than the blog. And yes, the words from the previous edit are my own. CBaus (talk) 4 March 2009
