Centerpoint High School

[edit]

I am tired of the meaningless edits being made to Centerpoint High School. You are not contributing to the article in any way whatsoever. One of the changes that TheGEICOgecko mentioned is that we shouldn’t have dense administrators mentioned in the article. That is completely hypocritical as evidenced by the information he has included at Cape Fear High School.

Please do not revert my edits. If you have a problem with something I have done, please let me know, and tell me why, but do not revert changes without explanation. "Please do not revert to previous edits" is not a reason. TheGEICOgecko (talk) 05:27, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate you trying to help if that is actually what you are trying to do. I just saw the rule about the alma mater. I had not seen that before, so I apologize. For the majority of the other edits, I’m simply following the patterns I see on other schools’ Wikipedia pages. There are very few schools that have three school colors, and I like the way they stack instead of how you list them. I’m not sure why that’s a major sticking point. Other school principals have their honorary abbreviations listed, but no one changes them. Our co-curricular clubs should remain listed in my opinion.

Note that school articles tend to go unnoticed, due to extremely lax requirements as to what constitutes as a notable high school before the late 2010s (and no one has really deleted unnotable school articles, nor will I). Yes, many schools have honorary titles, but that does not make it right. Honorary titles should rarely be included, and this is certainly not an exception. Also, it is not about your opinion as to whether something should be included or not, but of convention and guidelines. Co-cirricular clubs should not be included per advice by WikiProject Schools. Unless this is an extreme exception, it is not acceptable. I am simply following the advice given by the project, and am including little discretion of my own.
Also note that Arkansas schools in general seems to be systemically flawed in ways I have not seen in other states I've edited in so far. It appears that one user has edited almost every school article in Arkansas, and since school articles generally go unnoticed by editors, they have remained there for who knows how long.
If you would like to better understand how to edit school articles, I suggest you read WP:WPSCH/AG. Remember that this is an online encyclopedia, not a Fandom Wiki. One should not edit purely out of opinion. Also, generally you should not revert someone's edits without explanation, especially when an active situation like right now. If you have a problem with one of my edits, please clarify why in the school article's talk page. TheGEICOgecko (talk) 06:00, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It seems that you are reverting the changes I have made without discussion. If you have issues with any of my edits, I encourage you to discuss why they should be reverted in the school article's talk page (here is a link to the talk page). However, do not revert my changes without discussion. Also, when considering whether something should be reverted, mainly focus on Wikipedia policies and guidelines, as well as the WikiProject advice, which can be found at WP:WPSCHOOLS/AG. So far, your edits have been based on opinion. For example, you made an edit stating "Removed unnecessary coding. This needs to remain a static date," which does not give any reasoning as to why this should be so. Other edits you have made state no premise, such as "Reverted edits made by another poster."
Please discuss your reasoning as to why you believe changes should be made. Repeatedly making edits that have been scrutinized without justification is considered unconstructive or disruptive. TheGEICOgecko (talk) 00:44, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to use disruptive, inappropriate or hard-to-read formatting, as you did at Centerpoint High School, you may be blocked from editing. There is a Wikipedia Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. This includes, but is not limited to, not putting "Dr." in front of names. This also means following the headings in the infoboxes and not forcing data.C.Fred (talk) 01:09, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Centerpoint High School. You have been advised about the Manual of Style and are flagrantly disregarding it, as well as guidance like WP:OL. This would be a good time to explain your actions; your silence could be misconstrued as intentional disruption.C.Fred (talk) 01:13, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please engage in discussion at the talk page about why you feel the need to use nonstandard formatting in Centerpoint High School. If you do not offer an explanation, the only remaining conclusion is intentional disruption. —C.Fred (talk) 03:01, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Is that what you’re upset about? Show me how the formatting is nonstandard and stop reversing all of the changes.

I’m trying to learn what’s correct and what isn’t, but you refuse to be of any help to me.

The standard for infoboxes is to use the graduates and graduates_year fields to note the number of graduates and year for that statistic. You're deleting the year and forcing "class of" into the field for the number of graduates. —C.Fred (talk) 03:06, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
And why did you remove the number of graduates altogether? —C.Fred (talk) 03:07, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

After looking at other schools’ articles, I believe that to be incorrect. When I began editing this article, I don’t think there was a graduates_year field.

So you removed something from the infobox without knowing what it does? —C.Fred (talk) 03:12, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I never said that. I simply reviewed other schools’ articles and edited our school accordingly.

And again, another mess to clean up. When you removed the graduate data (which, IMO, is probably a good edit, because there's no source cited), you removed links as well. —C.Fred (talk) 03:15, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

What links did I remove? Again, I honestly feel that you are not trying to help me understand or help our article.

Last last chance. Why did you remove the links to terms like public school? If you don't know what the code does, don't change it. —C.Fred (talk) 03:18, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Links removed to:
Additionally, a capitalization error: only the first term in an infobox line is capitalized. —C.Fred (talk) 03:19, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Those are pointless! You and I both know that. Stop being petty!

This is ridiculous. I simply try to update an article with information that I know is correct, and you repeatedly undo my edits and block me. Just fix the links that I took out and leave the formatting for the USNWR rankings and the school colors. That’s all I ask!

Yes, putting back in the unsourced graduate figure in a format you were told was unacceptable is ridiculous. —C.Fred (talk) 03:28, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Can you tell me why you have edited other schools’ articles (mineral Springs High School, Dierks High School) and removed code? Why do you correct me instead of trying to help me learn? Why do you continue to change the formatting of schools’ colors even though you’ve admitted that it is only based on your preference?

While blocked, you need to focus on your behaviour. I "correct [you] instead of trying to help [you] learn" because you appear unwilling to learn. You do not ask questions. Instead of asking why your edits got reverted, you make the same mistakes over and over again. As far as colours, you have been told the that Manual of Style is clear: in an infobox, sentence case is used, so only the first word is capitalized. —C.Fred (talk) 03:39, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You are such a liar! When you first mentioned to me your reason for changing the school colors, you said something about it being generally accepted usage. Now, you’re referencing sentence case.

I have been looking though other edits, and I see that you tend to have this problem with multiple users on multiple articles.

I also see that as a supporter of the Oxford comma, you have left one out in your biography. You are a joke.

People like you are simply on Wikipedia to disrupt things for everyone else. You have absolutely no desire in helping readers find correct and accurate information.
