Chittivalasa is on the banks of Gosthani River and it is merged in 1974 a part of Revenue Village Division of Bheemunipatnam Municipality, and now in outskirts revenue village of Visakhapatnam GVMC (Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation) in Andhra Pradesh, India. It is located on the Raipur-Chittivalasa, National Highway 43.

Chittivalasa is located at 17°55′52″N 83°25′44″E

History :

Traces of human settlement habitation and early trade in and around Chittivalasa may be dated back to 3rd century BC or more as many (Early Buddhist) sites such as Pavurallakonda, Gudiwada Dibba, Vizianagaram District. This area once flourished as Madhyama, historical kingdom of Kalinga region.

Chittivalasa Jute Mills (C.J.M.) –

In the past few centuries ago, here firstly started Indigo industry then in the Britishers regime it is developed as Jute Industry in the name of Chittivalasa Jute Mills (A Willard Division of India Limited). It is employed nearly 6000. It is now 2nd largest Jute Industry in India and Firstly started in Andhra Pradesh State and it is also first Industrial Place in Visakhapatnam District. It is large employed industry in private sector in the State. Jute struggles/labour fighting fruit results of Acts are way to other Jute Mills in the State. It is located 30 kms from Visakhapatnam City.

Freedom fighting movements :

Started freedom fighting movements here to Delhi.

Political :

Lt. J.V.K. Vallabharao elected as MP (Rajyasabha). Mr. Sabbam Hari (Former Visakhapatnam City Mayor, & Ex.MP of Anakapalle). Mr. K.A. Paul (Evalongicalist & Prajaa Shanti Local Polical Party inaugurated)

Labour Unions/Associations:

AITUC (Started India's first Jute Labour Union), CITU, Congress Karmika Sangham, TNTUC.

Education :

C.J.M. Factory School (100 year completed), and other 4 municipal elementary schools. Zilla Parishad High School, Dr. Ambedkar Municipal High School & 3 more convent model High Schools, private Junior & Degree colleges. ANITS (Anil Neerukonda Institute of Technology & Sciences) is in the revenue village (Chittivalasa-Sangivalasa)

Sports :

Conducted - (1) Two times- India’s Kabaddi Invitational tournaments (2) State Ball badminton tournament & (3) District & Coastal Andhra Pradesh football tournaments many more times and (4) Bodybuilding competitions for 5 times. Lt. Katon Samuel played for India’s football team member in a time. Lt. Vobbilireddi Perunaidu played for Andhra Pradesh football team member in a time.

Art & Culture :

First Cinema Theatre started in Bheemunipatnam Assembly Constituency (After one/ two decades - Telugu Talkie movies started). A noted socialistic drama “Rakthakanneeru” by Cine artiste Naghabhushanam for 2 times. Conducted district cultural programmes many more times. Programmed here noted Dancer & Cine actress Mrs. Manjubhargavi. Played India’s noted circus companies – The Greatraymond, Kamalaline circuses.

Hospital :

Started ESIC Hospital/Dispensary, ESIC Local Office in the name of Chittivalasa. Anil Neerukonda Hospital (Chittivalasa-Sangivalasa)

Post Office:

Sub-Post Office Chittivalasa (531 162). Started Telegraph Office.

Others : Fire Station & Electrical Sub-Station, Chittivalasa.

Banks : A.P.G.V. Bank Branch (1976). State of Bank of India Branch (1977). DCB Bank Branch (2018)

Transport : City Route Buses Nos. 222, 222V, 222A, 211, 111, 111V, 999T, 55T, 888 etc., are touching the place from Visakhapatnam & Vizianagaram.
