Autoblock

Hi, thanks for un-autoblocking me. Why does this keep happening to me? How can I stop it happening? Littleteddy (talk) 12:15, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

According to Template:SharedIP:

If you are autoblocked repeatedly, we encourage you to contact your Internet service provider or IT department and ask them to contact Wikimedia's XFF project about enabling X-Forwarded-For HTTP headers on their proxy servers so that our editing blocks will affect only the intended user. Alternatively, you can list the IP at Wikipedia:WikiProject on XFFs.

Hope this helps --Chris 08:50, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Your status bot is strange

What's up with your status bot? It cannot check the database records and figure out that I am online? I do not know what are your parameters for showing online status but you can set it to logedin, last edit 30 minutes or something. Also it does not need to check all user database records but only the ones which are its clients. I hope you can fix its logic, do not want to by seen as a phantom editor. Regards, Igor Berger (talk) 05:19, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Chris G no longer has anything to do with StatusBot. He is being suceeded by User:E, however, since E is on a wikibreak (for medical reasons) the bot has crashed.--Sunny910910 (talk|Contributions|Guest) 05:23, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
Let's hope it gets back up. I feel unloved..:) Igor Berger (talk) 05:31, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
Not sure about the love part, but I agree that someone should fix it soon.--Sunny910910 (talk|Contributions|Guest) 00:23, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

Torch Computers

You have deleted my entry on Torch Computers. This is not advertising or self-promotion. As the article made very plain, it is to provide a general-interest history update on one of the significant names of the Cambridge Phenomenon. The article also made it plain that it was needed as it was referred to by a number of other existing Wikipedia articles but for which the links were unavailable.

Please explain why you have deleted this article in these circumstances.

Please respond to me at jon@torchcomputers.co.uk —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jon Dane (talkcontribs) 11:31, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

  • Jon has now extracted his digit and written a proper stub. We need to watch him cos of his COI but I hope you will agree with me that the present stub is OK. Have noted the extensive incoming links? -- RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 14:54, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
Yes, I think the current article can stay --Chris 20:14, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Huggle Category Problem

Hi there. You are receiving this message from me as you have not added your huggle category correctly. At the moment on category here you can see that you are sorted under the letter U. To fix this please change the [[Category:Wikipedians who use Huggle]] to [[Category:Wikipedians who use Huggle|YOURNICKNAMEHERE]]. This will fix the problem. If you do not change this within a few days then i will do this for you but i would prefer to send you a message like this than just go and change your page. If you want to contact me then please use my talk page as i will not be checking back here. Thanks for your help. ·Add§hore· Talk/Cont 16:47, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

I would like to inform you that although the page has significantly changed since that time (*sigh... another revert war against a vandal) your revert was mis-informed. I would also like to say sorry if my revert was incorrectly made. Just informing you as the top of this page adivises, if you would like to contact me, my user is user:williw. 24.91.51.85 (talk) 22:33, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Request for Adoption

Hiya! I've been messing around on Wikipedia only, not really doing much, but editing books and cartoons. I would really love to learn more things, so it would be great if you could help me. Pretty please? I'm watchin' you,mon (talk) 16:31, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, but I'm just to busy with other stuff to adopt a user at the moment --Chris 08:49, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
I volunteer if you want. Antonio Lopez (talk)00:24, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Bot activity

I was going over the list of bots and noticed that Chris G Bot 2 (talk · contribs) has not edited in a very long time. Is this bot still active and if not, would you object to it being de-flagged? Please post your comments to Wikipedia_talk:Bots/Requests_for_approval#Dead_bots since this is a rather widely-posted message. MBisanz talk 06:41, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

Wingo Exprs

Hi Chris, this is about the Wingo Exprs page. I fail to see what is not notable about a multimillion Euro business that operates a public service on a daily basis. The fact they fly to tampere-pirkkala airport is notable it seems (it is mentioned on that page), but any explanation of what the company is is not notable? This seems peculiar. Furthermore, there has been an article on the Finnish wiki for months about this airline. I appreciate a small regional airline in Finland seems irrelevant to many, and it may well be, but that is not to say it isn't notable or information about it unworthy of public consumption. Please think more carefully about deletions in the future and please repost the original. I found it had been removed as I attempted to improve it by cross ref. to the Finnish article, adding internal links and adding links to the company's homepage.

Olyus (talk) 13:09, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Please take a look at Wikipedia:Notability, I have restored the content of the article in your userspace(see User:Olyus/Wingo xprs) once you feel it satisfies Notability you can move it back to Wingo xprs. Feel free to contact me if you need any more help. Regards Chris 09:45, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
