Kings Lynn Town F.C.[edit]

Could I ask that you provide a source for the information you are adding to the article. We do not use hyperlinks in the way that you have done with the photo, and this is also WP:Original research. Thanks, Number 57 15:59, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The reference to King's Lynn Football Club can be found in the publication Norfolk News dated 30th May 1868.

Other than a trip to Norwich library if you do a search on the British Newspaper Archive website using the term King's Lynn Football Club it will also show up there.

The photograph was published in the newspaper Lynn News (microfilm in the King's Lynn Library) and in a copy on My Ancestery - at present I do not have the publication dates of either.
I've had a look in the British Newspaper Archive and Norfolk News doesn't show up as one of the papers in there, and I cannot find any mention of King's Lynn on that date. I'm concerned anyway that to add that to the article claiming that it is the earliest mention of the club is original research, unless another source can be found to say it is indeed the first mention. If you go to http://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/ and used the advanced search and search for the phrase "King's Lynn Football Club" it will find two references. One of these is to an article which it attributes to Norfolk News.4 You should end up here: https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/account/register?countrykey=0&voucherclaimant=false&nextpage=%2fviewer%2fbl%2f0000247%2f18680530%2f031%2f0006&rememberme=false&cookietracking=false&partnershipkey=0&newsletter=true&registerreason=none&gift=false I don't think that saying this article is the first mention of the club is important - what I am trying to get across is that the club, known as King's Lynn Football Club. existed at that time. I have downloaded the copy from the newspaper archive and it can now be found at www.thelinnets.co.uk/archive/norfolknews.pdf

Can you point out where in the source you have provided the article "King's Lynn Football Club reformed" is listed? The section on Lynn only mentions the formation of the Norfolk FA. Thanks, Number 57 12:10, 18 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
