Software has a bug

I've been trying to correct the grammar mistakes by replacing the old "methamphetamine" with the new "memphatamatine" - unsuccessfully. This software has been reverting my grammar corrections to Meth mouth at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meth_mouth for an entire day, it thinks I am trying to vandal the page. Is this software unaware of the recently updated American English vocabulary?

the ID of the revert is 4190464 — Preceding unsigned comment added by F15Dude (talkcontribs) 09:36, 12 November 2022 (UTC)

Please report false positives from the bot on this page, not on this talk page. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 12:58, 12 November 2022 (UTC)
I should also note that ClueBot NG made one edit, so your "entire day" claim is a gross exaggeration. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 13:01, 12 November 2022 (UTC)
Sorry for that! My colleague is a little less experienced but I have done more research. We have discussed with Josh and are working on solving the issue.

There's nothing being worked on or solved. There isn't a single result on Google when searching for the term you're suggesting. Hey man im josh (talk) 18:06, 12 November 2022 (UTC)

Bug with warnings

So I've seen Cluebot NG revert edits and then use the appropriate warning on the talk page, but lately it's been creating new sections and using the basic warning instead of adding onto the section, like here. Is this a bug? Roundishtc) 21:27, 13 November 2022 (UTC)

@Roundish: (talk page stalker) I believe this is intended. When the bot added the level one warning, the most recent warning was dated ten days earlier. Since IP addresses can be used by multiple people, the bot is coded to ignore older messages. -- John of Reading (talk) 07:45, 14 November 2022 (UTC)
@John of Reading: That's correct: when warning users, the bot will restart the warnings if the last warning was issued over 48 hours ago. However, I think Roundish was asking about the new section heading the bot creates whenever it makes a new level 1 warning. On the linked talk page, there was already a section titled "November 2022" on the page. Tools like Twinkle will add new level 1 warnings under it, but ClueBot NG instead creates a new "November 2022" section when issuing a level 1 warning. This is because the new section heading is added by the warning template the bot uses, not by the bot itself, so the section heading is always added whenever the bot issues a level 1 warning.
A QOL feature update could make it so that the bot would check to see if there was a section heading and then add it in as a separate function, like how Twinkle does. It doesn't seem to be a very high priority, though. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 13:26, 14 November 2022 (UTC)

Bot acting up again

@John of Reading:, User:ClueBot_III/Master_Detailed_Indices/User_talk:Qwerty284651, the bot is gone haywire again. I recently had my /Archives index deleted since it was displayng links to 2 indices subpages, so I deleted mine and changed the default archive index param to the default one but the bot nearly blanked the Archive index page and it's no longer displaying links to the Archives pages. If you could look into it, that'd be great. Best, Qwerty284651 (talk) 11:59, 4 November 2022 (UTC)

@Qwerty284651: Since your archives are at User talk:Qwerty284651/Archive 1 and User talk:Qwerty284651/Archive 2, I don't think this edit was correct. I don't know how the indexing works, but I'm sure it needs to be told the truth about where the archives are. -- John of Reading (talk) 13:39, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
@John of Reading, was just following the guide, otherwise I wouldn't have made that edit. Qwerty284651 (talk) 14:52, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
@Qwerty284651: That part of the guide is describing some parameters for {{Archives}}, not the parameters for User:ClueBot III/ArchiveThis. -- John of Reading (talk) 15:12, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
And to your point, you're right I tagged the wrong template, but the edit proof you provided is the one, which has the aforementioned User:ClueBot III/ArchiveThis. with the right [[User:ClueBot III/Master Detailed Indices/User talk:Qwerty284651|archive prefix], where the all archives should be stored but the bot unexplicably removed them. Qwerty284651 (talk) 15:20, 4 November 2022 (UTC).
Why aren't my Archive subpages not displayed with this setup? Qwerty284651 (talk) 02:39, 10 November 2022 (UTC)

@Qwerty284651: Your archives are located at User talk:Qwerty284651/Archive 1 and User talk:Qwerty284651/Archive 2; the sub-pages under User:ClueBot III are index pages, not your archive pages. I don't know how the bot works, so I can't explain what it is doing with the incorrect archiveprefix. Notice that since the archives have the default names, the usual {{Talk header}} is displaying a search box and the two archive links. Unless you plan to make use of the index page, one approach would be to fix the archiveprefix and set archivebox=no to make the second "Archives" box disappear. -- John of Reading (talk) 07:43, 10 November 2022 (UTC)

@Qwerty284651: First off, your archiveprefix is incorrect. Assuming you want sequentially numbered archives, it should be User talk:Qwerty284651/Archive. I don't know why you currently have it set to your master indices page.
There is documentation on how to use the bot on the bot's user page. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 13:37, 14 November 2022 (UTC)
@K6ka, I left the archiveprefix parameter empty so it reverts back to the default value which should fix the issue. Qwerty284651 (talk) 14:44, 14 November 2022 (UTC)
