Deaf-mute
[edit]Hi Comrade42. I'm seeking opinions and possible support for an issue in which I'm in a debate with other Wikipedians. I'm trying to change indiscrimant use of the term "deaf-mute" in describing deaf people in general. To see some comments related to the issue, see Talk:The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter, as well as my own Talk page, User talk:Ward3001. You can also follow the links to other discussions. Right now I'm about the only person addressing the issue because deaf people are such a small minority. Other Wikipedians, with apparently no prior knowledge of the issue, are reverting my edits. If you're interesting in expressing your opinion, feel free to do so. If you wish to discuss further please leave me a message on my Talk page. Thanks. Ward3001 17:57, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
Wikipedia in ASL
[edit]Hi! I'm contacting you because you are in the Category:User ase category; I just wanted to make you aware that there is currently a request on Meta about creating a new Wikipedia edition in American Sign Language, and I would really like your input on the issue, as a native signer. WikiProject Deaf
[edit]I notice you are a member of WikiProject Deaf. You may also add {{User WikiProject Deaf}}, which also adds a userbox to your page, or [[Category:WikiProject Deaf participants]] to your userpage. If you do, it will list you in Category:WikiProject Deaf participants. Taric25 20:16, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

OCHS
[edit]Why are you messing with the OCHS page. The page was bland and uninformative before. Now it informative, we put more work into it in three days then you did in one whole school year. The page is now 100 times better and you are banking in on our work. Seriously, you are ruining the work we put into the article. Someone has to make it better, but you are messing it up by deleting good adjectives and information.
OCHS wikipedia page
[edit]Why do you have such a problem with our “sensational” writing? All we are doing is adding detail to the page to give readers the full experience of Oregon City High School. You should be thanking us for making the OCHS wikipedia page presentable and respectable. Where is the vandalism? Everything we wrote was based on true occurrences that took place within OCHS, some of them before your time. There was no need to escalate the situation by attempting to threaten us. If the threatening continues, we will convert the page back to its original status, disgraceful and uninspiring. By the way, attempting to block our IP address is futile. IP addresses are not a scarcity around these parts. Also, which administrator has a problem with our writing? Maybe we can convince him/her otherwise. Have a wonderful day.

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on VISO, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because VISO is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting VISO, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Quality of the Oregon City High School article
[edit]I think you might want to consider Benson Polytechnic High School article as a good model for constructing a better school article. I agree that the Clackamas High School article is far more concise than Oregon City High School. The athletics section needs serious reduction. All of the tables, including the ones in the academics and athletics sections, should be removed. The club table does not establish any notability either. I suggest that it be removed as well. The Model UN section could easily be consolidated into the academics section. Also, the notable graduates section could be consolidated into the athletics section. Lastly, the notable events section needs to be retitled, something similar to "Public exposure". I also question whether this part is actually notable. Perhaps it should be removed also?Anthonzi (talk) 09:49, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
Another editor has added the {{prod}}
template to the article VISO, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}}
template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. BJBot (talk) 19:01, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
